TRAVEL UPDATES:

As you may already know, the International travels will be reopening this week Saturday 29th.

It's very crucial to know the changes that has taken place in travels and immigration at large.

Although FAAN are yet to release safety guidelines and protocols.

We have drafted some new safety protocols as put in place by airline officials ahead of international flights resumption.

1. Ensure you carry all your travel documents, your original police character certificate, vaccination card” for yellow fever and typhoid diseases. Original medical certificate, testing for – tuberculosis, HIV, hepatitis B, syphilis, covid19 test.

2. Expect to be checked thoroughly by airlines safety officers and immigration officers before boarding and at the Port of entry.

3. In some countries 14 days quarantine is compulsory expect to be quarantined on arrival.

4. Airlines have not been allowed to engage as many flights as they want, especially to the countries that has not resumed international travels, instead they can only schedule flights to some destinations, some are once in month, others twice in a month depending on the country. It's important to take note of this before booking your flight otherwise contact us for professional assistance.

5. There may be long waiting, queueing and cancellation of flights because not all countries have resumed international travels.

6. Some countries do collect biometric on arrival e.g Ireland, expect to have your biometric collected if it wasn't part of your Visa application process in your country of residence.

7. Expect timely interrogations, delays from immigration officers within and outside your country.

9. Lastly, ensure you abide by the safety protocols and have your travel document Handy.

The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has approved gradual reopening of international flights and train services across the country.
The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that this was part of the decisions reached at the end of the second extension of the second phase of eased lockdown.
The Chairman of PTF and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, said this while speaking at the daily briefing of the PTF on Thursday in Abuja.
He said, “It’s important to ensure that restrictions are not completely relaxed in order to control transmission.
“It is also important that at this Community Transmission Phase of the pandemic sub-national governments step up to take more responsibilities by owning the response.
“To sustain gains already made, therefore, the PTF recommended to the President the retention of the current phase of the response with minor changes to address economic, socio-political and health concerns.
“It is, however, important to inform you that the major changes being proposed are aimed at achieving the following:
“Gradual re-opening of international air flights within established parameters;
“Re-opening of rail transportation within established parameters”.
