Olanipekun Defends Tinubu's Election Victory In Final Written Address To Tribunal

The counsel to President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima, Wole Olanipekun, SAN, has asked the Presidential Election Petition Court to dismiss the petition of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, and his party.

Olanipekun, in his final written address against the petition of Obi and LP, described the arguments and testimonies of witnesses presented by the challengers as “frivolous, bogus and based on hearsay”.

In his written address, he urged the court to dismiss the petition as totally lacking in merit, substance and bona fide.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria also argued that the “remote” contention of the petitioners that his client’s election should be cancelled for not scoring 25 percent or one-quarter of the votes recorded in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is not backed by any fact known to the law as the use of “and” in the constitution is conjunctive and not disjunctive.

The address reads in part: “This case clearly cries to high heavens in vain to be fed with relevant and admissible evidence.

“The appellant woefully failed to realise that judges do not act like the oracles of life, which is often engaged in crystal gazing and thereafter would proclaim a new oba in succession to a deceased oba.

“Judges cannot perform miracles in the handling of civil claims, and at least of all manufacture evidence for the purpose of assisting a plaintiff win his case.”

EYES ON THE BALL.......

Governor Alex Otti's vision is clear and unambiguous., and his plans, well thought out.

He desires to create a productive and progressive Civil Service.

He wants to estore the debased and eroded dignity and pride of Civil Servants and inspire them to think outside the box and be in tune with the demands of modern governance.

He is out to bury the Ghost Workers Syndrome (GWS) by sanitising the system and creating a workable template that would see to a seamless and sustainable process of payment of salaries and pensions which would be devoid of fraud and injustice.

He is passionate and ready to educate and open the eyes of many to understand that Civil Service is not and should not be the major employer of Labour, but the Private Sector that would be enabled and supported by government to spring up and create employment opportunities for the citizens.

Governor Otti and his team knew that there would be some initial genuine concerns, so his government is willing to honestly address such concerns.

His government also knew that there would be resistance, organized blackmail, disinformation and distortion of facts as strategies to stop the government from executing its laudable plans and policies, however, he and his team are keeping their eyes on the ball.

Congratulations, Papillo (Kanu Nwankwo)! We hope you make us proud as you take over the helm of affairs as chairman of Enyimba International FC, Aba.

Driving Youths and Sports Development to enviable heights is one of the core visions of my administration.

The task is humongous, and the real challenge before you is to raise the bar.

Interestingly, I am aware of your relationship with the gaffer (coach) of the club, our own legendary and iconic ex-Super Eagles winger, Finidi George that dates back to your heydays in Ajax where you both conquered Europe and won domestic titles at the club level. We trust that this synergy and chemistry can be maximised and replicated in Enyimba, too.

I also wish to thank the former management of the club ably led by Felix Anyansi Agwu for his outstanding contributions over the years. His time as manager and subsequently chairman witnessed the club winning the CAF Champions League back-to-back and many laurels.

Kanu, we want to see Enyimba shine on the continental and global stage again. You have the support of our government and the teeming fans of this great club.

Judiciary! Save democracy in Nigeria, cancel 2023 Presidential Election;

Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, who is Bola Ahmed Tinubu's key witness ,planned to rely on reports from local and international election observers during his statement at the tribunal. However, he was caught off guard when Dr. Livy Uzoukwu SAN presented the EU Report on the 2023 elections. This report is an indictment on INEC, security agencies, APC, and the Judiciary. The revelation caused Wole Olanipekun SAN to abruptly close their case, and many are now calling for Tinubu's disqualification. It's important to note that if someone presents a forged document during an election, they have perjured and cannot contest in the same election again. Therefore, even if there is a rerun, Tinubu will not be able to participate due to his past actions.
