The attention of the management of Ibom City Ferries have been drawn to a publication on various social media platforms alleging Ibom City Ferries attempting to defraud Nigerians.

This allegation is totally false, misleadingly, malicious and libelous in it's content and claim.

Ibom City Ferries have been on a quest to introduce a scheduled passenger ferry service for the people of Akwa Ibom, however due to a few outstanding logistical and regulatory issues we haven't been able to commence operations as planned. We are currently working with regulatory authorities to complete all regulatory compliance requirements.

One of the location suggested to us was Ibom Icon Hotel however we had not commenced any deliberations with the hotel group before an unauthorized post was released on Facebook in December 2021 which went viral and mentioned Ibom Icon Hotel as a take off point.

The management of Ibom City Ferries immediately distanced itself from the post and subsequently issued a disclaimer to that effect sending letters to affected and identified parties.

Ibom City Ferries have at no times, intended or purported to defraud the good people of Akwa Ibom or Nigerians as the alleged libelous post stated, and only planned to provide a scheduled passenger ferry service which the good people of the state had been clamoring for.

We regret the publication of this post and are currently taking legal advice as to our next steps.
