The President of Ohanaeze ndi Igbo Youth Council Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka has frowned at the emergence of the new Ohanaeze ndi Igbo Council, described it as a group sponsored to destroy ndi Igbo.
The President and other youths while holding a press conference slammed His Royal Highness, Eze (Dr) Nkeli Nzekwe who is the traditional ruler of Igbariam Community for inaugurating the group and announcing himself as one of the board of trustees.
However, the Ohanaeze ndi Igbo youth Council President has reaffirmed their stand on the side of Chief Nnia Nwodo and declared that the new group of Ohanaeze ndi Igbo will not stand.
According to him, "This is total coup, total madness, and will not stand. Ever since the group Ohanaeze ndi Igbo came to existence we have never seen two factions of Ohanaeze ndi Igbo in Igbo land before.
"It's obvious to us now that this new group of Ohanaeze ndi Igbo that are being sponsored by some group of people fighting for freedom wants to destroy our fatherland and we will not allow them to succeed.
"We are peaceful loving people and this type of scenario has never happened before in the history of Igbo land. We advise whosoever that is behind this plot, either here in Nigeria or outside the country to desist from causing confusion everywhere in Igbo land so that the wrath of our forefathers will not before the person.
"This group Ohanaeze ndi Igbo has through its numerous programs attracted lots of projects to Igbo land. Our constant visits to President Muhammadu Buhari has brought alot to our land and still bringing more. Second Niger Bridge is an evidence on ground that every Igbo man is seeing.
"Before the COVID 19 outbreak, we met with the President and he promised to bring more projects to our region and we look forward seeing the projects soon.
"Tell me what this new group has come to offer ndi Igbo other than to destroy the peace reigning Supreme in Igbo land. And we will resist them by all means. Ohanaeze ndi Igbo is not a political group but a traditional organization aimed at bringing peace, harmony, love and prosperity to Igbo land.
"We call on the Igbo Governors forum, the traditional rulers, the entire Igbo Youths worldwide and the Christian Organizations to rise up and condemn this unforeseen sacrilege invading our land before things gets out of hand" he said.
