A Govan lady who built aircrafts during the war and lived through the Clydebank bombings has celebrated her 100th birthday.

Hazel MacLennan was one of the first young women hired to work in engineering during the Second World War and worked in James Howden's engineering works.

Born on February 5, 1923, Hazel grew up Plantation and Sheildhall districts of the city, attending Govan High School and celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday at Malin Court Care Home in Maidens, South Ayrshire, surrounded by 20 of her closest friends and family.

Happy Birthday, Hazel 💜🎈
