It feels terrible when we get our feelings hurt. Many times, people hurt our feelings when they say something unkind or speak with a demeaning tone. It’s agonizing when loved ones forget our birthdays, anniversaries or other special events. In most instances, the wrongdoer is unaware or had no intention to cause sadness. When it comes to forgiveness, we must use discretion and overlook unintended transgressions against us.

God’s mighty hand created the dry land upon which we stand. It is the foundation that makes our steps sturdy. Our life journey takes us through various terrains. There are high lands, lowlands and steep mountains that will need to be climbed. With all that walking, it’s inevitable that we stumble from time to time. Therefore, we rely on our friend and Savior, Jesus Christ to help us regain balance and continue our walk along the narrow road we must travel.

When God decided there should be light, He simply spoke the command and there was light! He has the power to move mountains with the wave of a gentle hand and part seas with a gentle whisper. It’s incredible to be so small and loved by a heavenly Father so mighty. In the face of danger, we have no fear. Our Father is always with us, making our footsteps sturdy as we walk upon the very ground He created.

Fear is a natural emotion. We become frightened of the weather, the dark or perhaps our recent financial status. The list of items or factors we humans fear is endless. If we aren’t careful, our concerns begin to control our behavior. Fear makes us feel trapped until we fall at the feet of our Lord and Savior. When we ask for His help in our weakest moments, He will lift us up and comfort our uneasiness.

Hardships come to us in many forms throughout our lives. We experience financial woes, death of our loved ones, and health concerns. We often become weighed down by fear, anger, depression or sadness. God is our refuge in times of trouble. He carries our burden with us, and he builds us up so that we are not shaken by our misfortunes. God is loyal and loves us unconditionally.
