The International Institute of Tourism & Hospitality, Yenagoa, was established in 2012 by the Bayelsa State Government, through the instrument of the State House of Assembly Law 2012, to serve as a centre of excellence for education, training, teaching, research, consultancy and publication on travel, tourism, hotel management, catering, hospitality, culture, entertainment and other related areas

The Institute, which is being regulated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has the following academic structure:

School of Management, Vocational & Foundation Studies:
• Department of Business Administration
• Department of General Studies
• Department of Vocational & Foundation Studies

Tourism & Hospitality Professional Membership Certification
The enabling Law allows the Institute to also provide Professional Membership Certification for organizations, practitioners and individuals in the hospitality industry, in Nigeria. This service will generate huge revenue to the coffers of the Institute, yearly. The following membership grades are available:-

A Bayelsa State Heritage Museums and Monument approved Gallery opened at 19 Sinime Street off Dawoo road in Yenagoa.

Macaulay Eteli Art Gallery inaugural exhibition "CHANGE" opened 4 March 2023 and ongoing.

Coming up this June will be the release of a documentary short film THE MACAULAY ETELI STORY. Please stay tuned for more details.
