📌 Dancing House is the nickname given to the building built by Nationale-Nederlanden , a Dutch insurance company, in the city center of Prague , the capital of the Czech Republic.

It is a building designed by Vlado Milunić , an architect of Croatian and Czech origin , in collaboration with Frank Gehry, an architect of Canadian origin, on an empty area located on the river bank. The building in this area had stood empty since it was destroyed in the Czech Bombing in 1945. The construction, which started in 1992, was completed in 1996.

This design, which does not comply with traditional architectural trends and is in the Deconstructivism style, has caused controversy since the approval of the construction. Václav Havel, the first president of the Czech Republic and who lived in the area right next to this building, supported the construction and expressed his hope that the building would become an important center of cultural activities.

This building, which was originally named Fred and Ginger because it was dedicated to Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and symbolizes two dancing partners, stands out among the Baroque , Gothic and Art Nouveau buildings common in the region . Another name given to the building is "Drunk House".

There are offices of several international companies in the building, which has a French restaurant on the rooftop .

📌 Castle de Haar
Castle De Haar is one of the most famous and visited castles in all of Holland and was originally founded in the late 1300’s by the Van de Haar family, whose standing in society allowed them the comfort of building a fortified abode.

By 1449, the castle became the property of the Van Zuylen family thru marriage. In 1482, the castle was destroyed due to differences of opinion (quarrels) between the city of Utrecht and its bishop

By the 17th century, the Van Zuylen family line had become extinct and the castle was inherited by the Van Stembors, who originated from the south of Holland - present day Belgium. French soldiers attacked and damaged the castle during the years 1672 and 73.

In 1801, Castle De Haar passed to JJ.van Zuylen van Nijevelt, a distant cousin of the Zuylen family. JJ had inherited a castle that was in a poor state of repair due to 200 years of neglect. Upon his death, these magnificent ruins passed to his son Baron Etienne van Zuylen van Nijevelt in 1890.

The rebuilding of the castle was started in 1892 under the guidance of one of Holland’s most famous architects Dr PHJ Cuypers. It is his influence on Castle De Haar that we see today. PHJ Cuypers rebuilt the castle as close as possible to the original outlines and were there was not sufficient material to work with he used his own ideas of what a medieval castle should look like. The interior was rebuilt to a luxurious standard with the inclusion of electricity. A new bailey with an entrance gate was built on its original foundations.

Today the castle is surrounded by parkland but this was not always the case. From the medieval period to the end of the 19th century, the village of Haarzuilens had been surrounded the castle. Haarzuilens was completely demolished and relocated some one and a half kilometres away to the west. The village chapel however was saved from this wilful destruction and incorporated into the new park. 》》》》》》

📌The Statue of Liberty or officially Liberty Enlightening the World , is a monumental statue and observation tower on Liberty Island in New York City , USA , which has been the symbol of America since 1886. It is one of the most recognizable monuments in the world.
The Statue of Liberty, made of copper , was gifted to the USA by France for the 100th anniversary of its founding . It was built between 1884-1886. It is located on Liberty Island in New York , USA .

The statue holds a torch in its right hand and an inscription in its left hand . The date July 4, 1776 ( the date of the Declaration of Independence ) is written on the tablet. The 7 pointed tips of the crown on the head of the statue symbolize 7 continents or 7 seas. The height of the statue is 46 meters and 93 meters with its base. Visitors can climb a 168-step staircase from inside the statue to the torch. The height of the statue's right hand holding a torch is 13 meters. 15 people can wander around the corridor around the torch. The width of the head of the statue is 2 meters and the height including its crown is 5 meters.
The Statue of Liberty is open to visitors. Those who want to visit can reach the island by ferry, climb the stairs to the torch, and watch New York Harbor .

Isabelle Eugenie Boyer, the widow of Isaac Singer, the founder of Singer sewing machines , modeled the statue. One year after the Statue of Liberty was completed in France in 1884, it was divided into 350 pieces and delivered to New York Harbor in 214 crates. The pieces were reassembled on the pedestal within 4 months and it was opened in front of thousands of spectators on October 28, 1886.

The Statue of Liberty has been on UNESCO 's World Cultural Heritage List since 1984. A smaller copy of the statue is in Paris and looks towards the Atlantic Ocean . There are also smaller copies in various other parts of the world ( such as Osaka , Pristina , Beijing , Nevada , South Dakota , Bordeaux , Poitiers ).

1📌 The Galleria Umberto I ( 19th century ) is a covered shopping street with shopping arcade in Naples , capital of the southern Italian region of Campania . The monumental main entrance is located on Via Medina, opposite the Teatro San Carlo .

King Umberto I of Italy gave his name to this structure. The city wanted to honor him because of his concerns during the cholera epidemic of 1884.

Nine years after the construction of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan , construction began in 1887.The idea of bringing together luxury shops in a covered shopping street was considered a revolutionary idea. Construction lasted until 1890. Engineer Emmanuele Rocco, and after him, Antonio Curi, were responsible for the construction. Not all places were occupied by shops; the top floor often contains office spaces. The construction was proposed as a redevelopment of the Santa Brigida district . Santa Brigida had a bad name: it was the place where criminals of Naples gathered, a place of prostitution and street fights. This neighborhood was destroyed.

The gallery has a cross shape and is completely covered with glass. On the floor under the central dome there is a mosaic floor with all the animals of the zodiac .

On the second floor is the Ascione Coral Museum , next to the jewelry shop of the same name.

Preikestolen (The Pulpit Rock) towers 604 metres above the Lysefjord, and the trek there is one of Norway's most famous mountain hikes. The interest in Preikestolen is high, with more than 300,000 nature-loving hikers visiting the renowned rock formation every year.

The eight-kilometre hike starts at the mountain lodge Preikestolen Fjellstue. Allow a total of four hours for this moderately demanding roundtrip. Join one of the guided tours that run daily from April to October (subject to weather conditions), admire the cliff from a sightseeing boat on the fjord, or do both – some tours offer combined hikes and cruises.

If you are concerned about sharing Preikestolen with too many people, start the walk at night, and you will experience a bit of magic when the sun rises. Or just go in the afternoon.

The nearest places to stay are Preikestolen Fjellstue and Lilland Hotell. You can also stay overnight in Stavanger, from where you can take a boat trip on the Lysefjord.

Season

The hiking season lasts from May to October. Preikestolen may be reached year-round, but from November to April you need special equipment – and preferably a guide. You can rent head torches, crampons, and a guide in the area. If you decide to go without a guide it is very important to follow the Preikestolen staff’s advice in the parking lot.

📌San Giorgio Maggiore is one of the islands of Venice, northern Italy, lying east of the Giudecca and south of the main island group. The island, or more specifically its Palladian church, is an important landmark. It has been much painted, featuring for example in a series by Monet.

The isle is surrounded by Canale della Grazia , Canale della Giudecca , Saint Mark Basin , Canale di San Marco and the southern lagoon . It forms part of the San Marco sestiere .

San Giorgio Maggiore was probably occupied in the Roman period; after the foundation of Venice it was called Insula Memmia after the Memmo family who owned it. By 829 it had a church consecrated to St George; thus it was designated as San Giorgio Maggiore to be distinguished from San Giorgio in Alga.

The San Giorgio Monastery was established in 982, when the Benedictine monk Giovanni Morosini] asked the doge Tribuno Memmo to donate the whole island for a monastery. Morosini drained the island's marshes next to the church to get the ground for building, and founded the Monastery of San Giorgio Maggiore, and became its first abbot.

San Giorgio is now best known for the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore, designed by Palladio and begun in 1566. The belltower has a ring of 9 bells in

In the early 19th century, after the Republic fell, the monastery was almost suppressed and the island became a free port with a new harbour built in 1812. It became the home of Venice's artillery.

San Giorgio Maggiore is now the headquarters of the Cini Foundation arts centre, known for its library, and is also home to the Teatro Verde open-air theatre. In addition, it features two harbours managed by the Compagnia della Vela: Darsena Crose, facing north (see second image below) and Darsena Verde, facing south.

The thermal spring of Saturnia originates a thermal stream, called  gorello , which feeds the  waterfalls.
Seen from afar, the  waterfalls  (so called by the locals) look like the drawing of a postcard.
The falls are a natural and free place, so they are  open 24 hours a day , every day, even in winter and admission is  free . At the waterfalls of the mill there is a  bar  and a  car park , which are always  open.

📌Mamure Castle is a well-preserved medieval castle , 6 kilometers east of Anamur in Mersin Province . The castle is located directly on the sea.

The castle was built in the 11th century by the rulers of Cilician Armenia on the foundations of a Roman fortress from the third century AD. It was built to protect against pirates and repaired in the Byzantine Empire and during Crusades . When Kayqubad I of the Seljuk Turks took the ruins of the castle in 1221, he built a larger castle, reusing the existing material. Later the Karamanids ruled the castle. During the Mahmut or Karaman regime it was occupied and repaired and renamed Mamure (Prosperous). In 1469 the castle was annexed by the Ottoman Empire. It was successively repaired in the 15th, 16th and 18th centuries. Part of the castle was used as Caravanserai .
The castle was discovered in 1988 by excavations in the area.

The castle has a size of 240 by 170 meters. It is surrounded by a moat and has 39 towers, which are connected by ramparts. The castle has three courtyards, namely: west, east and south. The western courtyard contains a small complex consisting of a single and a ruined mosque , minaret and a Hamam (Turkish bathhouse). In the southern courtyard are the remains of a lighthouse .

Kassel is home to one of the largest concentrations of museums in Germany, catering to every kind of audience. The highlight is the dOCUMENTA, an art event that attracts worldwide interest, which is held here every five years. But Kassel actually has a varied program to offer throughout the year.

The first charter in which Kassel is mentioned, as the court of the Frankish king, dates from the year 913. The inhabitants of the city were therefore able to celebrate the 1100th anniversary of Kassel in 2013. In those 1100 years, a lot has happened in Kassel. Thus it was here that the Brothers Grimm wrote most of their stories. "The years in Kassel were the happiest of our lives," wrote Jacob Grimm in 1860. Their immortalized fairy tales ("Kinder- und Hausmärchen") were published from 1812 to 1815 and now have the status of World Heritage document. There is still much that bears witness to the creative drive of the famous brothers, such as the museum dedicated to them and their house, which has largely remained in its original state on the outside. Wonderful to stay within the city limits of this large city in northern Hesse is also the so-called Wilhelmshöhe mountain park, one of the largest of its kind in Europe. The famous classicist castle of the same name is also located here. Also very worthwhile is the Karlsaue State Park. The idea of being able to shop extensively in the city itself, and then quietly enjoy the illuminated fountains in the mountain park in the evenings, will make many people curious about Kassel.

📌Santorini is a ring -shaped island group in the Aegean Sea , belonging to the Cyclades . It is located north of Crete , south of Naxos and Paros . The largest island has the same name, Santorini or Thira. The islands of Thira, Thirasia , Aspronisi, Paléa Kaméni, Néa Kaméni and Christiani are located in the archipelago . The shape of the archipelago was created by the Minoan eruption , a huge eruptionof the volcano that was there before. The capital is called Thira.
Santorini is one of the sixteen Volcanoes of the Decade designated by the IAVCEI due to their history of major eruptions and the nearby inhabited areas.
Tourism is the main source of income and employment in Santorini. The main attraction is the spectacular landscape of the caldeira with its perpendicular walls, where the white villages are built on and in. When traveling around the island, you will pass by rocky outcrops which have different colors depending on the metal , most of which is in the ground and the volcanic rock. For example, more ferruginous rocks are redder.
The underground, fairly intact remains of the city of Akrotiri give a real picture of the high- level Minoan civilization that ruled the island before the city disappeared under the rubble. There is also the archaeological site of ancient Thira, but that requires a steep climb.
The most beautiful beaches, of black, red and brown sand and pebbles, are located in the south and east of the island. Oia is known for its white houses and blue-domed churches, which are often found on postcards and in Greek travel guides and books. Entering the archipelago is an experience in itself. By boat you can visit the smaller islands of Thirasia and Nea Kameni and swim in the warm sulphurous springs in the sea.
