It is both a blessing and a curse sometimes to have found your home in a place that so many people want to visit....but don't root. Expat friends are the best of friends here because they get you and the crazy thing you've done. You don't have to fully explain the why....just tell your story and receive an understanding nod. The sadness of it all though is that those friends typically have to move back to the motherland at some point. 😥
will always have a home here in Amsterdam as they move on to their next adventure back in Michigan. I made this piece for their new home, and oddly it is a close reflection of all the places I too call HOME. I mean, essentially home is where the heart is, right? Nicole & Michael have a corner of my heart no matter where they are. 🫶🏻

Life is and has been a series of roller coaster ups and downs but I'm hoping that I can find a bit more steady ground this year. When things become stressful, too busy or hit all at once, I really want to dig into my toolbox to rebalance myself.

Last month I had the honor of presenting a custom painting to a dear friend for her birthday. wins husband of the year for commissioning this gift for his wife. I was tasked with capturing her childhood home in Maastricht with a tango scene in front (she use to dance tango). This painting was a departure from my typical floral oil paintings...and I welcomed the challenge.

Find friends that admire your work and trust you to deliver a vision. 🙋🏻‍♀️

Today I helped facilitate an all day meeting between several teams outside on the most perfect day in the gardens. This was a service plan I developed several months ago but didn't really do anything about. Lo and behold, the work came to me. I loved being a part of the strategizing between teams to get them on track with goal setting and aligning with one another. I couldn't do this without adding an art element too. Some beautiful plants were created today. 🌻🌱🌳
