Guided walking tours from Bos & Lommer
in Amsterdam West
Every Wednesday free 5km neighbourhood walk. Hoi, my name is Alex(andra)
I was born and raised in Vienna/Austria (NOT Australia! - still happening ;)) and in 2001, I moved to the Netherlands "for a year or so". Somehow...still (happily) here...
I always liked being in nature and in my mid-twenties I started going on hiking vacations. I ha
ve been in Ladakh, the north of India, where I did a week-trek in the Himalaya; during a hiking vacation in South-Africa I went on two amazing game-walk-days in Kruger National Park (instead of in a Jeep, you walk through the open bush with rangers); in Morocco I climbed mount Toubkal during a week trekking and in 2023 I did about 120km of the amazing! "Peaks of the Balkan" trail (passing Albania, Montenegro and Kosovo). My absolute highlight however was a trip to the top of Kilimanjaro, which was my present to myself for my 40th birthday. During "regular" holidays as well, I try to incorporate some hiking. Being it along the river Mosel and in the Black Forest in Germany, on Crete in Greece or in Spain. The Tramuntana mountains on Mallorca are visually stunning! I also took my hiking shoes all the way to Bali and climbed up mount Batur. (great views but way too many people!). In the Netherlands I started organizing hikes for friends, usually with a little "twist" or "extra". Besides that I discovered that I really enjoyed planning and organizing these outings, I also got very positive feedback from everyone. So, finally I thought, why not do this broader than my friend circle. And so "BoLo Loopt" was born. I, myself live right next to Erasmuspark and frequently go on walks in the neighbourhood. I still discover nice locations and places which I try to incorporate into nice walking routes. Walking not too slow (about 5km/h) makes it a nice exercise, while still I find these walks mind-calming. So, why not share that with other people! For the near future I am planning to offer longer guided walks/hikes/bike rides, starting from or near-by Bos en Lommer. So, if interested, keep an eye on this site :)
Groetjes,
Alex
