2024 has come to an end and what a year it has been! We feel honoured that our regular Clients have continued to book their travel with us. We’re also privileged to have been recommended to our Client’s friends who travelled with us for the first time in 2024. Just like in the last 22 years of Wine & Dine Travels’ operations, 2024 was also filled with memorable trips and experiences that we’ve had a pleasure to organize ALL over the world.

Among others, we had Clients enjoy the magnificence of Camp Sarika in the Grand Canyon, we had a group of friends fall in love with the Norwegian fjords, a family exploring the Australian Great Barrier Reef, we got amazing feedback from a party touring the Scottish Highlands at the spectacular Cairngorms, we organized a private anniversary at the Egyptian pyramids, we had guests explore northern Thailand, fly helicopter above Dubai, New York and Cape Town, we’ve organized birthdays in a.o. Ibiza, Marrakech or France, “wine & dine” holidays in the Douro Valley, Tuscany or Greece, encounters with capybaras in Japan for our Client’s children, romantic holidays in the Maldives, yacht cruises in Greece, Norway or Indonesia and many many more.

The first European to have approached the island is Christopher Columbus, who baptized it in honor of his brother Bartolomeo, during his trip in 1493.

It’s centuries later when the French adventurer Rémy de Haenen landed an airplane on the island for the first time in 1946. Soon after he acquired land in the bay of Saint-Jean for a few hundred dollars in 1953. In 1957, the billionaire David Rockefeller had a modernist villa built there. The rest is history… Since the 1960s this jewel of the Caribbean has been transformed into a luxury tourist destination, reinforced by the ban on high-rise buildings and the absence of mass-tourism.

Slow life in the UNESCO Douro Valley. Our client has enjoyed the peace and quiet here enormously couple of weeks back. Not to mention the divine “wine & dine” side of the region, including both the renowned restaurants like Bomfim 1896 with Pedro Lemos and the simple home-made snacks on the wooden “rabelo” boat. These used to transport barrels with port wine on the Douro river in the 18th and 19th century. Thank you Mrs XX for sharing with us🍷☀️🚤
