"From computer to printer and from audio to video systems, in my position as ICT Technician I’m involved in all areas of tech. My role also involves devising ICT system solutions that are used on the projects we carry out for many different clients – not only commissioning them but also solving any technical issues.

I started working at Bluestream in 2014. The job requires a very flexible approach, which suits me perfectly. Every day is different and every project is a challenge to prepare and install, often at short notice."

In today's , meet Roel Postema (R&D Engineer ).

"I started as a Project Engineer at Bluestream in 2020, but quite soon afterwards, I had the chance to relocate to the R&D/support department. Having good technical skills, this was a perfect match for me. The environment we work in is constantly pushing for innovation, giving us the opportunity to do what we like best: come up with innovative solutions to actual problems.

As an R&D Engineer, I’m responsible for the realisation and implementation of the innovations we work on, ensuring that we create the right solution to the challenge we face. The most exciting feature of my job is the brainstorm sessions. That’s where the most creative ideas are discussed, and the sessions often lead to surprisingly innovative solutions. As a team, we also have great client focus: we help as best as we can, onshore and offshore. In my opinion, there’s nothing more satisfying than a happy customer – whether that’s the client or a colleague."

In today's , meet John Boer (Business Controller).

"In February 2021, I was taken on at Bluestream to look for a successor to the Finance Director, who had found a position elsewhere. But in the meantime, all her tasks had to be taken over and redistributed. Along the way, we discovered a new area – Business Control – and at the beginning of January 2022, I started in the role of Business Controller.

Bluestream feels like a family business: the way of working, the attitude of my colleagues and the company culture all fit with my personal values and way of living. As Business Controller, I took over a lot of the financial control tasks of the former Finance Director, but I also aim to add new business control features to company. By shifting the focus from the short term to the medium-long term, and creating more awareness about the financials and other figures, we’re able to distribute the responsibility for the business to a wider management team – in other words, business control. We strive to improve the company continuously so there will always be a bright future for Bluestream."

"I started working as a Project Manager at Bluestream in 2019. Because I’m managing different ROV projects simultaneously, every day is different with new tasks popping up all the time. Being a Project Manager gives me the opportunity to make connections with all sorts of clients in the oil and gas industry, as well as in the renewable energy industry – which is something I really enjoy.

"I started working at Bluestream not long ago, in February 2021, and I’ve felt very welcome here ever since I joined. With 10 years’ experience as a quality inspector in the gas and oil industry, I’m now seeing a whole new world as an Inspection Engineer. I’m working in the IRM department, and am involved in all aspects of an IRM project from start to finish. I process the data before and after the offshore operations, and I love being involved in the whole process.

I enjoy working alongside different departments and being part of a group of very knowledgeable and helpful people. Every day I learn new things, and that’s what’s great about the job. The people at Bluestream are genuinely friendly and hardworking, too. I value the feeling that we’re all in this together and we all have the best interests of the client at heart."

Gemini requested Bluestream to conduct the annual subsea BoP inspections of various WTG foundations and offshore sub stations. The inspection program included both general visual inspections (GVI), Close Visual Inspections (CVI) and CP measurements.

In today's , meet Ruslans Feskovs (Senior Technician).

"I joined Bluestream in 2012 as an ROV Technician, which means I maintain, repair and modify Bluestream's ROV fleet. My daily work involves preparing ROV units for various offshore projects with different and sometimes unique solutions. I’ve also provided assistance with mobilisations on various vessels and, once in a while, on offshore projects.

My job at Bluestream is never boring – there’s always a new challenge. The company really keeps up with new technologies; in my opinion, that’s the key to its success. Surrounded by skilled people and caring management, I see Bluestream as a company with a bright future."

Bluestream Offshore recently conducted cable reburial operations on multiple locations within an undisclosed offshore wind farm.

The exposed cables were reburied by using a mass flow excavation tool launched from the VOS Sugar.

The VOS Sugar is equipped with three different types of ROV spreads and various subsea tooling to perform a large number of ROV campaigns in the Belgian, Dutch and German sectors.

In today's , meet Dennis Kraakman (Project Controller/ Senior Accounting Officer).

"I started at Bluestream in 2015 as a Senior Accounting Officer. Together with the rest of the Finance team, we’re in charge of all the financial services at Bluestream. I’m also responsible for cost control of the company’s projects.

Alongside the project managers, we manage the financial risks and results while maintaining high quality standards. The role combines several disciplines, and the team is very driven when it comes to improvement and innovation – both of which make my job interesting and challenging.

Bluestream is a really dynamic company in which employees play an extremely important role. There’s great team spirit and I like the informal atmosphere, too."
