Factory visit at the JPK Composites shipyard From our home at Oosterzee, it is a 1.081 km drive to the JPK Composites shipyard in Larmor Plage (Lorient). We took a Thursday and Friday off, for the first visit during the manufacture of our JPK. Friday afternoon is the best time for a visit, because most of the JPK-Team are having an early weekend....

Why we want to go for electric propulsion? In 2022 we sailed from Scheveningen to Brest. There was little wind and we motored quit some miles. Fuel was expensive, and in Brest the costs for diesel were € 500,-. If we had more time we would have motored less, but is was a delivery, and people were awaiting our arrival. We were sailing on Sweden 50, a heavy displacement yacht....

We intend to live on our boat and make many miles. And we expect the extra cost for an electric propulsion system to be paid back within three years.

Ester and I have just started our partnership Fastcruising.yachts.

Our new JPK-39FC, indeed a fast cruising yacht, is currently build in Larmor Plage near by Loriënt in France.

The idea is to start cruising this Year and we are preparing for a grand tour next Year.
