I might have posted less in the last couple of months, but I've certainly been busy! Between getting the lathe working, planning to move the company to a new workshop + all the orders I've had to make. Ooh and dealing with little Jasper and the Dutch weather.

Shucking and hand protection! What do you use when opening an oyster? A towel? Chan mail gloves? Or brave bare hands?

I always advise to wear a glove. Even if it's just to protect from the sharp edges of the oyster itself. I think the best value for money are the mechanics gloves. Police use them as cut protection, so they have a proven track record.

Be safe, the right tools always help!

A set of Jacomina knives in Fafnir pattern. These knives were commissioned after last year's edition of Damasteel Chef's Invitational. An online culinary knife show with some of the world's best makers. And I'm happy to announce that I will be joining for the 2023 edition as well! Stay tuned for the date in November!

Happy weekend everyone!

This white Enduris oyster knife would have been great for the 4th of May. You know, the day that all companies try to pretend they like star wars... But in the Netherlands that's also the day we commemorate our fallen soldiers / victims of war. A very important day to learn from history and to celebrate peace. And for me, that's much more important than a marketing gimmick.

Doesn't mean I dislike pew pew, pew pew 😀
