Rotterdam Street Art #1: 'Mister Merida' by Tymon Ferenc de Laat.
With many great artists in town, more and more beautiful street art is starting to cover the walls of the city. The variety that begins to emerge is abundant and worth strolling around for.
In the Eendrachtsstraat, a side street of Witte de Withstraat, you can find the mural 'Mister Merida'. It is a 5 by 4 meter wall painting by Tymon Ferenc de Laat, who operates under the name MeLikePainting. 'Mister Merida' was painted with spray cans and is based on Mexican portraits which Tymon saw while travelling.
The MeLikePainting Art Gallery/Studio can be found on on Schuttersweg 113 b in Rotterdam.
About Tymon (from www.melikepainting.com):
"His work is often being described as energetic with a touch of pop & street art. Tymon searches for contrast in it's many forms.
The inspiration for his paintings comes from many trips around the world backpacking accompanied by a brush and camera. Central and South America especially have left a colorful impression."
