Sri Lanka to Maldives - Departure

Left the bussy harbor of Galle to spend one night at anchorage of Jungle Beach and another one at Merissa, trying to see some whales. With Milica and Roos :-)

450 miles ahead to Ulligamu at the very north of Maldives. Expecting some strong winds on the way...

Will be in the Maldives till end of April and still some places free for sailing and diving enthusiasts!

Heading tomorrow to the Maldives and having still some free places between 1st February and 25th of April to Maldives.
Thereafter will go Chagos: a remote and mythical cruising destination - 6 weeks off-grid! From 25th of April until 7th of June . Just updatet the year planning below.

Arrived at Sri Lanka, Galle from the Andamans after an amazing 7 days at sea.

We did a total of about 1000 miles of which about 2 days under engine. After a swift start from Cinque Island we had a zone of squalls and even saw some water sprouts. Thereafter tranquil sailing in light winds with a chicken-gooze for christmas, delicious tapas and a selection of tunas and mai mai. The last 2 days were fast after catching good winds and strong favorable currents around the south of Sri Lanka.

Grateful for a really nice trip with an amazing crew.

Sailing with old and new friends!
4 days last month from Port Blair around Havelock and Neil Island. The waters are clear, the islands super lush, the people friendly, the food fantastic and the fishing just great.
