Hey there! My name is Milan and I am a second-year ATLAS student. Next to my studies, I am an active board member at S.A. Atlantis, who concerns himself with educational affairs and student wellbeing. I have grown to believe that it is important to actively incorporate student views when shaping education (policy). As a member of the UReka list, I hope to present these student views to the council. Additionally, your time at the UT is about more than just studying. Topics like student wellbeing and transparent communication are of great importance to have a pleasant time at university. I aim to bring these relevant points to the table so that the UT community can thrive together!

Hello there! My name is Aarezo and I am a third-year International Business Administration student. I am currently a board member at the honours association H.V. Ockham and I am finishing my bachelor's in the beautiful city of Muenster. I was born in Twente and have lived there for most of my life and I want students to be able to get the most out of our beautiful Twente! I also think the student culture is an integral part of the university and should be stimulated in a positive way. For starters, student well-being should be made a priority at every level.

Hi there, My name is Joris Kuiper. I am currently studying Technical Computer Science and am in my second year. Besides being an active student, I am also a board member of one of the student associations at the Pakkerij. Being bold is what I see as an integral part of our student culture. Throughout history students have always aimed to bring change in the world or their university. This legacy of being bold and trying to bring change is what I want to continue in the University Council. By being bold I will try to expand our amazing student activism culture, improve our quality of education and create a safe environment for everyone on our beautiful campus to enjoy.

Hi there, nice to meet you. My name is Jaime and I am a first-year master's student Civil Engineering and Management.. Maybe you have seen me walk around the Horst, play a soccer match at V.V. Drienerlo, at the gym or late at night when I am getting you your drinks while working as a bartender at Aspen Valley. Last year in the council, I worked on the portfolio of student wellbeing and also voiced the wellbeing initiative to the Executive Board. During my work for my study association ConcepT, be it for committees or writing a Strategic Policy Plan, I learned that there are way more aspects to the student policy than I thought. I would like to be the voice of the students within the University Council to make sure the quality of the student life is maintained or improved by the decisions made by the University.

Hi everyone! My name is Tom Tankink and I am currently in my second year of the Bachelor Mechanical Engineering. Last year I was part of the board of my study association, W.S.G. Isaac Newton. This was an amazing, but sometimes also a challenging experience in these rapidly changing times. As a Commissioner of Educational Affairs, I encountered a lot of problems that originated from this rapid change at the UT and most importantly found out that for solving these problems the ‘current student’ was not at the centre of attention. For me, it is important that we as a current group of students make clear what is best for us, so that our voices will be heard, both in education and in the entire campus community.

Bringing uTwente back to U!🙏

Hi, my name is Bart Schuurman. Last year I finished my bachelor Electrical Engineering and next year I will start my master's EE. This year, I am a board member of E.T.S.V. Scintilla, the study association of Electrical Engineering. Next to this, I am the current chair of the Faculty Council of EEMCS. I have learned a lot in both functions and seen a lot of good things at this university and also some things that are up for improvement. Next year, I hope to work together with other students to shape an even better UT.

But most of you might recognize me from the many different projects I was part of, on behalf of UReka and the University Council this past year. I will introduce myself as enthusiastic, process-oriented, hard-working, and passionate. I deeply care about internationalization and integration on different levels within the university. I'm Joep, a Chemical Science & Engineering student, who currently is in the third year of his bachelor's. This year, I'm investing my time in doing a board year at my study association, C.T.S.G. Alembic as Commissioner of External Affairs. My spare time is spent rowing at D.R.V. Euros and learning new stuff. Action & Accountability

How do you do? Let me introduce myself. I am Matteo, a fifth-year student! Last summer, I completed my Bachelor's in Technical Computer Science, and September marked the start of my Master's in Data Science. I enjoy solving puzzles of all kinds and practising (ice) skating in my free time. In my third year at the University, I committed to a year as the full-time Treasurer of C.S.V. Alpha, which brought me a lot of awesome experiences. This year, I have joined the list of UReka, and I will be trying to help the University become a better place for all students. I am an idealist but have learned not to linger in thought. In fact, I will be doing my best to shape the University's policy actively, with accountability towards students as my first priority.

Hey everyone, My name is Jeroen. I am a third-year Industrial Engineering and Management student. If you know me, it is most probably via Study Association Stress, where I am active and have done a board year. Next to this, I was part of the UC faction of UReka in the past years. As chairman of the study association and member of the UC, I have seen and spoken with a wide variety of bodies within the UT. But most importantly, I have spoken a lot with you, our students. With this knowledge and my passion for long term and durable solutions, I want to help our university to get ready for the future.

UReka is the student party that focuses on the quality of education and overall student well-being at the University of Twente. We think that every UT student needs to be certain to receive high-quality education and a valuable degree. Next to that, we think it is important that students are provided with an environment they feel comfortable to study in. This includes managing the growth of the University, supporting sustainability and student activism, facilitating transparency and being an international University. Overall we want to be the link between the students and the University, improving the communication.

Our faction works hard to ensure that the UT puts the interests of ALL students first. We do this by critically commenting on the policies of the board of directors and give advice. Occasionally we also bring forward our own initiatives.
