Again a step made. And we are trying something new. Bending wood. Should work, but I dont know how the laminated wood will handle the bending. Well, if we dont try, we never know.
All drawers are done, now it is time for the final sanding and then getting some clear coating. Last but not least, the upper part for this side.

We are doing a new project.
Interior for a toyotat troopy.
Left behind the fridge there will be a cabinet. On the right a bench/bed.
First things first. opening the whole left door. Easy little adjustment.
the next step is a simple one, at least it should, but no car is the same. So, little steps and then it fits.
Now I can start with the measurements and the real build.

Drie Schuintamboers Route durch Drenthe.
Eine herliche tour entlang felder und Wälder, an Perlen der Natur und was der mensch so gschaffen hat.

Last week I worked hard, and with the help of friends this weekend we made lots of progress.
As always in the beginning it is dismantling time and then it looks as if there is no end to it.
But last weekend things came to place and now I am busy with the build up already. Which should be done as this friday it should be ready to go on its maiden voyage.
With my hoist it is easy to work and that made me go fast and still able to be safe.
Tomorrow the friend and new owner is coming to help out and I hope we can start painting at least some coats.
I will keep you informed.

I had to redo some parts, as they were a bit warped. But hey, if you can solve a mistake, it aint a mistake in the end.
And look ,my next project will be an overland trike. hehe.
Today I worked to finish the lower part of the construction and tomorrow I will start on the upper part.
I did cut all the pieces for it. So we can get some progress if all works out fine.

Well here you have it. The roofrack plus box is as high as the crossbar of the lift. So perfect. Comes a bit higher as the mechanisme needs around 5 cm and the upper lift part takes around six cm. so you will have around 11cm above the lid of the box. Which means plenty of storage room between the RTT and the trailer lid in the roofrack. and the trailer will be around 5 to 8 cm wider on each side. And that longer as well, so the RTT and the trailer will have around the same dimensions.
There will be plenty of space to put the gas bottle, water jerry cans and such. Which means that you will have plenty of weight to level out the RTT on top

I did set up a nice working area outside, so lest metal dust inside. And the new welding table is great to work with. Together with the other welding table I could work in ease.

Disconnected the axle to the box on one side. Now I have made the first measurements. Tomorrow I will cut, sand, clean up these tubes and then drill the holes so it can go between the axle and the box. Then these tubes, left and right will be the base of the RTT construction. From there I can start building up.

Spray painted the inside. Under carrier coat to the connection between the drawbar and the axle. That is again nice and protected.
Now I can start building. The base is good now.

It still looks awefull, but there is so much progress. I welded all holes shut that arent needed anymore.
Did put up some rustconverter after a bit of sanding.
Tomorrow with some luck, sanding and such I can paint the inside black. This would make room for the next stage.
That is building up the construction for the RTT.

The last part of the trailer taken of.
I will try to go to the bare minimum. And from there the plan which it has to be is like:
1. build the new frame completely from scratch which will hold the RTT and Awning. That will be the base.
As this is from 40x40x4 mm tubing, it will be very very sturdy.
2. When that is done and all works as a charm, I will put the fenders and such onto that new frame.
That will make everything again way more sturdy. And by then I have checked most welds and renewed them when needed.
3. Painting is first before I start building. At least the body will be raptorized.
4. All tubing and such will be painted if possible before I put it back on the trailer.
5. It means, the trailer will be slightly bigger, which is good and as new as can be.

And with the new hoist is lifting the trailer to a nice height a breeze.

The work of today. Hoist is done and working as a charm.
Made an experimental model to figure out how to make the RTT mechanisme for the trailer.
Lifted the trailer and found out that it still doesnt look that bad after all these years.
Will start tomorrow with taking the trailer way more apart.
Everything goes of, and from there I start rebuilding the trailer. It will be good.

More cleaning and also dismantling the little trailer. First sanded all the rust from the bottom plate and primed it with rust converter and primer.
Then did already two coats of black paint.
Took all the aly decking of the trailer on one side, removed the roof rack.
next step is removing all the lights, cables and such. Then sanding the inside walls.

In the meantime Iam busy with making a Hoist construction so I can lift the trailer. This should make me able to work on the bottom of the trailer cleaning all the metal bars.
When done, if needed put some new welds and then start building the lift contruction for the RTT.
When all is done, I do rewire the trailer and make the outside in Upol Raptor Black.

But I guess that is still a week or so in the future.

Mostly ordered parts and steel this day.
But hey, without that there is no progress.
So three more legs are ordered. All the steel is ordered.
So the progress will go on.

we are going to start a new project. It is called the new look of our first Overland Trailer.
Since yesterday it has a new owner and now we are going to make it much better.
It will have a mechanisme which can lift the RTT and the Rhino Batwing up to the aquired height.
Still able to hold plenty of camping gear. like chairs, a table, kitchen (not sure yet in which form) and all the camping gear for cooking and more.

This will be an ongoing project for the next month.

This is the first project since times that we do for someone else. And Iam very happy to start on it.
The trick is to use used or reclaimed stuff, new stuff and all but trying to keep the costs as low as possible. This without losing on quality.

So, I hope in the future I can make more of this kind of Trailers.
But first this one.

Nicht alle innenaustattungen sind superschon, teuer und schwierig.
Manchmal muss es schlicht, einfach aber gut sein.
Jeder konnte so etwas machen, aber nicht jeder hat dafur die zeit, den platz und das werkzeug dafur.
Also, wir haben den Platz, die Zeit, die werkzeugen und haben auch noch spass daran um nach "wunsch" was zu bauen.
Und der preis ist weil wir keine super profi's sind auch um einiges besser. Und hilft mann mit, dann ist es noch billiger. Und mann lernt was davon.
Und das ist wichtig. Denn ich bin meist nicht dabei wenn was schief geht.

Das hier war sehr einfach, schlicht und trotzdem hatte es alles was die dame brauchte.
Toyoat Landcruiser mit genau genug platz zum schlafen aber auch um alles fur Pferde zu verschleppen.
