In Suriname & French Guiana. Early September.
I will be there again. If you wish to join me, DM me!
Deep inside the Amazone jungle. Survivalist building a shelter for protection and sleeping.
We were hungry. Did not have a chance to go hunt yet, so we quelled our hunger by eating young palm tree hearts. Yes... you can.
Be part of the next trip.
On a small uninhabited river-island in the Amazon jungle.
During the river-voyage part of our adventures we stop at various small islands to relax, swim and eat.
Here, we're boarding our transport boat.
Adventures in the Amazon Jungle:
No roads, just rivers and creeks. This is how the local Maroons and First Nation tribes transport goods and people. Watch them going down a series of rapids stern/back-first. Exhilarating for sure. Want to experience this? Reach out!
Mankabba rapids, French Guiana
We are cruising down the Mankabba rapids which cover a distance of about 3 km. As this was the rainy season the water level stood about 5 meters higher, covering 95% of the massive rocks.
The skillful driver knows exactly where these rocks are and maneuvers the boat masterfully around them.
Watch the spotter in the front guiding him and pointing out where the submerged rocks are. An exhilarating experience as you can hear from the voices of the participants.
Local Maroons and First Nation peoples used to navigate these rapids by dug-out canoes not so long ago.
No roads. Just rivers and creeks. These are the Sisibi rapids in the Maroni river at the border between French Guiana and Suriname. These are the highways for the Maroons and First Nation peoples who live in this part of the Amazon jungle. We get to experience how they live. These guys work with us during our survival adventures. Next tour: Late August. Join us.
One of the components of our Amazon jungle survival adventures is that you get hands-on experience in building primitive hunting tools. There is a wealth of edible plants and fruits in the jungle, but meat eaters can also make tools to hunt and fish. Be part of these experiences during our August adventure.
Uma Creek1
Somewhere deep inside the Amazon jungle. Our jungle survival adventure tours literally takes us off the beaten path. Bear Grylls' is maybe better, but ours is surely more fun😁. Here we try entering an obstacle filled creek. JOIN us for the August tour!
Amazon Jungle Survival Training:
This is the real deal. While looking for a suitable spot to build a survival hut, we navigated a narrow winding creek for hours until we could not go any further.
Here we are unloading the dugout canoes. After that we started hiking deeper into the jungle towards the spot where the hut will be built, only from material the jungle provides
Fun stuff. Join us for the summer (lighter) version.
After 3 years of suspension due to covid we are back with the Amazon jungle survival experiences in French Guiana/ Suriname.
In this video we are returning from visiting the French town of Maripa Soula (shorturl DOT at/sSZ34 )
Join us for the August 2022 adventures.
Amazon jungle survival adventure
It's been almost two years since our last Amazon jungle survival adventure. Covid is still not fully tamed in Suriname and French Guiana (our playgrounds). We've kept crossing our fingers till they got stiff. But we keep on crossing them and hoping. This is a compilation from yesteryear😉
We have not been able to organize any jungle survival adventure since covid started. At times things looked promising but then another wave kicked in and recreational flights from North America and Europe to Suriname/French Guyana were banned.
We now tentatively planning a trip for September. Fingers crossed!
