Turn on your sound!! đ This video has just come in from our client, Julian, who is having the most amazing sightings in Botswana! He wrote, âForget about the 5 seconds of mating, this video is all about the noise when he roars afterwards! The video probably doesnât do it justice as the noise resonates right through you, itâs the most amazing sound.â

Why Africa Tried & Tested? We have tried your luxury African Holiday out for you before you get to Tanzania. So when you ask when is the best time to go on safari in Tanzania, we can tell you not only the (dis)advantages of every season, but also fill you in on those little secrets that only the locals know. How do we do that? Because we are based in Tanzania and spend our free time exploring Serengeti National Park or magical Ngorongoro Crater!
? Day MADE FOR YOU Holiday
Visit Tanzania at your own pace. With our custom African tours you can simply let us know whether you want to spend 5 days perched on a hill in the Serengeti to spot the elusive aardvark (and please send me a picture when you do!) or if you just want to take it easy on award winning private Mnemba Island. Sample the local cuisine on Zanzibar, be spoilt with a massage with a view at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, try your hand at spear throwing with the local Masai Tribesmen. Itâs all possible, just let us know where, when and what and we will do the rest! http://africatriedandtested.com/safaris/trip-made-for-you/
Rolling green lawns, white gable style buildings, tall wooden ceilings, handcrafted wooden window frames, railway-sleeper-floors and supports â The Manor at Ngorongoro is a stunning place with an even more stunning view over the hills leading to Ngorongoro Crater. Rooms are beautiful; they have a spa and massage therapy centre and also horses on the lodge property.
âOur holiday in Tanzania was a wonderful experience, thanks to Africa Tried and Tested. The program, the safari, the car and guide and the lodge we stayed in, were all great. This made our stay something we will never forget. Thank you Africa Tried and Tested for the professional organisation!â - Ellen, Netherlands
There is only one lodge inside Lake Manyara called Tree Lodge. You sleep in a treehut but not one that you used to play in as a kid. These are treehuts with Style with a capital âSâ. Large beds, down duvets, large baths, hot water outside showers and a swimming pool are all part of the parcel. Speaking of the swimming pool, I was enjoying the last few rays of sun after a refreshing dip and here comes a large male baboon, wanders past me, doesnât seem to be too worried about me, had a drink of water from the pool and off he went again. Guess thatâs what you call wildlife at your fingertips! Read more on http://africatriedandtested.com/accommodation/luxury-lodges/lake-manyara-tree-lodge-manyara/
The first time I stayed at Grumeti Serengeti Tented Camp, I woke up in the middle of the night as one of the resident hippos was scratching his body against my tent! Fortunately the tents are rather large and sturdy so once done, the hippo wondered off and I fell asleep again. The camp is located on the banks of the Grumeti River in the western Serengeti in Tanzania and depending on the season, there are as few as 40 and as many as 200 hippos on the river right in front of the camp.
