The Madeira Trail is a 5-day trek across the Portuguese island of Madeira. This remote sub-tropical island is situated in the Atlantic Ocean, about 500 kilometres from the African continent. The hiking route runs from the east to the northwest coast of the island via a network of pathways that connect the ridges and mountain peaks. Best thing about it? You can basically do it year round!

🥳 NEW: SNOW ALTA VIA 1 🐏
From tomorrow onwards we will be opening a snow version of the Alta Via 1. This is exactly the same Alta Via 1 but the difference is that it starts outside of traditional season, in April. In order to make this possible, Bookatrekking.com has rented a team of mountaineers who work as snowcleaners on the trails. Charisa, Dolomites expert explains: "We have someone working on every stage. There will be a small team responsible for the segment between Lago di Braies and Rifugio Lagazuoi and another team is taking care of the Cinque Torri part."
No complications are expected, but Charisa is still looking for volunteers for the final part of the Alta Via 1. "Between Passo Staulanza and the La Pisa bus stop we are still short in staff. We are confident that we can find people to clear this final section."

Rifugio Lagazuoi is one of the most popular huts in the Dolomites and rightfully so! It sits atop Monte Lagazuoi, above the Falzarego Pass. Positioned at 2752 meters above sea level, it stands as the tallest and most expansive refuge along the Alta Via 1. The terrace overlooks a vast expanse of peaks, including the Cunturìnes, the Cime di Fànes, the imposing Tofane, the Odle, and the gleaming Marmolada.

Hiking in Europe outside the hut-to-hut season? GR221! 😍
Our first bookable dates are in April but even right now some people are hiking the GR221 with us. They obviously knew something you didn't know yet :)
In total, the GR221 is a 140-kilometer-long walk in Mallorca, where you explore the Serra Tramuntana on this beautiful island's northwestern part. The route stretches from Port d'Andratx to Pollença and is divided into ten stages of varying lengths, ascending and descending 6,140 and 6,150 metres respectively. The route has no technical difficulties and is suitable for anyone with a decent fitness level. That leaves plenty of time for breaks at the orchards, enjoying the beautiful views from the mountain trails, and a drink on a terrace at the end of the day. You don't have to worry about the logistics of reserving the huts and other accommodations. We'll take care of that for you, so all you have to do is enjoy this unforgettable adventure.

That Triglav feeling 🥰
The roof of Slovenia and a guaranteed challenge, that's Mount Triglav (2864m)! The highest peak in the Julian Alps is Slovenia's national pride and a must for adventure-seekers. You reach the summit in just two days, stay overnight in mountain huts and finally get the chance to take out your via Ferrata equipment. That’s right, Mount Triglav is a mountain peak where you climb to the top! At least for the last 400m to the summit. Once at the top, your climbing gear can be taken off for a while and you can look for the best spot to capture the Aljaž Tower.

🥂 NEW: GARDA TREK 🤙
As the name suggests, the routes of the Garda Trek are around Lake Garda / Lago di Garda. Like an imaginary crown, they cover the northern shores of Italy's largest lake. In this area you will find numerous routes and trails that lead you across the different altitudes over and through the mountains.
The concrete answer to the question, "What is the Garda Trek?" depends a bit on which trek you are going to do. This is because it is 3 different treks that differ from each other in length, duration and accommodation. So hikers of the different routes will also answer this question differently. One thing they have in common is that they are circular. The starting and ending points are the same for each walk, namely, the town of Riva del Garda.
While you are still in the area, you can end the walk with a nice relaxing vacation along the shores of the lake, where you enjoy sun, beach and a delicious Aperol Spritz in your hand at . La dolce vita. 🥰

Nepal is famous for its long-distance hiking trails like Everest Base Camp and the Annapurna Circuit, covering lots of mileage and vertical gain. This may not be for everybody. The Langtang Valley Trek is ideal for those who don’t want to commit to a strenuous trekking journey, but still want to experience the very essence of trekking in Nepal.
The Langtang region is located straight north of Kathmandu, geographically the closest Himalayan mountains from the capital. The enormous ridge of snow and ice called the Langtang Himal forms a formidable natural barrier of more than 7000 meters high with neighboring Tibet. The mountains and the valley below are part of the Langtang National Park, the first designated national park in the entire Himalayan Range. It’s a safe haven for elusive animals like the red panda, ghoral (mountain goat) and the snow leopard.

🥨 NEW: WATZMANNTOUR 🍻
The approximately 53-kilometer (32,9 miles) long Watzmann Tour runs entirely through the German province of Baiern. Known for its Oktoberfest, soccer and beer gardens, you can also find Germany's only alpine national park there: Berchtesgaden National Park. Since 1978, this protected nature reserve covers 210 square kilometers (81 square miles) and thus the entire Watzmann Mountains. 🤙 NEW for 2024: ESCAPARDENNE 🌲
The Escapardenne: an escape on foot in the Ardennes. The Escapardenne is a hiking trip itself, but is also a combination of two of the most fun and exciting trails in Luxembourg and the Belgian Ardennes: the Lee Trail and the Eislek Trail. Three hikes at once and quite a few height meters? Definitely, and this partially in one of the smallest countries in the European Union.
The has the label ‘Leading Quality Trails - Best of Europe’, and that is definitely something. It is the combination of the Lee Trail and the Eislek Trail and when you hike the full trip, you will start in Luxembourg, but you will end in Belgium. You are literally crossing the border. Sounds good? Allez! 😎

Hi! Our little friends the Chamois are known for their agility and climbing abilities, allowing them to navigate steep and rocky terrains with ease. Chamois are relatively small, sturdy animals with short, hooked horns. They have a brown coat that darkens in the winter and lightens in the summer, providing them with camouflage in their natural environment.
Ibex and chamois are different species, with the ibex being a type of wild goat (such as the Alpine ibex) and the chamois being a goat-antelope species. While they may encounter each other in their natural habitats, their interactions are more likely to be based on factors such as competition for resources like food and territory rather than any form of social bonding. We're still friends though. 🐏

💥 NEW for 2024: ALTA VIA DI CAPRA 🥳
The Cinque Torri and (in part) the Croda da Lago are some of the absolute highlights on the Alta Via 1, a route that is rising above (pun) itself in terms of popularity. At Bookatrekking.com, we know better than anyone else that the Alta Via 1 sells out well before the start of the season, sometimes even already around the turn of the year. The Alta Via di Capra is a nice alternative for when you've fished next to the boat. That said, it is also a trip well worth the name we gave it!
On the Alta Via di Capra, you start your trek on the slopes of Parco Naturale Regionale delle Dolomiti d'Ampezzo, in the shadow of the world-famous Lagazuoi. You will then cross the Falzarego Pass and hike past the Cinque Torri, one of the most extraordinary rock formations of the Dolomites. A visit to Rifugio Nuvolau completes this part of the hut tour. But there is more. Croda da Lago, just a day hike for many tourists, is part of the Alta Via di Capra. With Lago Federa and Rifugio Palmieri the perfect cherry on the cake to a short, vigorous trek in the Dolomites.

🥨NEW for 2024: Zugspitztour (Hut-to-Hut) 🍺
Servus! Surely everyone has heard of Germany's highest mountain, or in other words, the Zugspitze. At 2,962 meters (9.717 ft), this impressive peak rises far above sea level and few other peaks match the panoramic views of the Zugspitze. Weather permitting, you can see not only the Eibsee but also the Feldberg in the Black Forest, the Watzmann and the imposing Grossglockner; Austria's highest mountain.
The Zugspitze Tour, also called the Zugspitztour by the Germans, is a unique tour with the ultimate goal of climbing the Zugspitze. The mountain range is equipped with enough cable cars to reach the top in one day, but only a hut-to-hut tour makes the experience a real triumph. In just 3 days, you can climb the Zugspitze while spending the night at cozy mountain huts and crossing the German-Austrian border at over 2,000 meters (6.561 ft) altitude. During the hut-to-hut tour, enjoy the famous Partnach Gorge, waterfalls and streams in the Rein Valley and challenging steep rock sections.
