We are still updating our website with all our visits to the sites as we noticed we still have some backlog.
Today we updated our (research) images on our visit to ww1 cemetery in Brje pri Komnu I in 2018.
The cemetery is the burial ground of Austro-Hungarian soldiers who died in fighting on the Soča (Isonzo) Front from 1915 to 1917. According to the available data, 2,300 soldiers of various nationalities who died in the military field hospital in Brje are buried at this cemetery. The cemetery was renovated in 2004.

LIPA NA KRASU - THE MILITARY CEMETERY

South from Mt. Tabor, between Temnica and Lipa, in the area called Ranke, lies theAustro-Hungarian military cemetery Lipa III.During the war the cemetery was known under the name of Soldatenfriedhof N°24 in Temnica (War Cemetery n. 24 in Temnica). From the beginning of November 1916 until the beginning of November 1917, 259 soldiers were laid to rest in this cemetery, 216 of which were Austro-Hungariann soldiers, 40 Italian soldiersand three Russian POWs. After the war, the remains of the Italian soldiers were relocated tothe Italian military cemetery Colle Sant Elia, located south of Sagrado (Gorizia) next to theirfallen comrades, and the bodies of unknown Austro-Hungarian soldiers found nearby wereburied at Lipa III. Today 223 Austro-Hungarian soldiers (206 known and 17 unknown)and three Russian POWs lie here. Nearly all soldiers belonged to the k.u.k. Infanterieregiment Ritter von Frank" Nr. 61 (Imperial and RoyalInfantry Regiment "Ritter von Frank" No. 61) from the recruitment area of Temesvár (today'sTimişoara, Romania).
