In recent weeks, the Netherlands suffered from seriously high water inland. Because the strong winds pushed the seawater high up against the coast, it was impossible to spout enough water from inland during low tide. But apart from some flooded basements and a houseboat turned loose, everything worked as intended. Water management proved its strength and skill again. And the citizens? They mainly enjoyed the dynamics of the landscape and the beauty of the water plains.

January-February means low-season. Time for new discoveries or random check-outs on what is known.
Today I visited the medieval little town of Franeker in Friesland where you can find the oldest working planetarium of the world- just in a normal house on the ceiling.
After that I went to the city of Groningen where I visited the exhibition on The Rolling Stones….a private guilty pleasure because I earned it.
