INSIDE AMSTERDAM CAFES
Among the most famous brown cafes in Amsterdam there is for sure Café 't Smalle, in a quiet area of the #jordaan neighborhood, on the Egelantiersgracht. The Cafe has a special story: in 1780 Pieter Hoppe started to produce genever and #gin in this venue, the brand became later, and still is today, one of the most famous "Genever" countrywide (the genever is a typical juniper liqueur from the #Netherlands and Nordics). The factory moved to Schiedam to get more space, however in the cafe, which opened in 1978, there are still several objects from that era including barrels and a huge gin pump, as well as an ancient spiral staircase.
Very nice and enjoyable in the summer is the small terrace on the water, to which boats often moore to go get a drink in the #cafe.

Tra i più famosi Brown Cafes di Amsterdam c'è senza dubbio Café 't Smalle , in una zona tranquilla del #Jordaan, sull' Egelantiersgracht . Il Cafè ha una storia particolare: nel 1780 Pieter Hoppe iniziò a produrre Jenever e Gin in questo luogo, per poi diventare, ed essere ancora oggi, uno dei più famosi "Jenever" del paese (Lo Jenever è un liquore al ginepro tipico dei paesi nordici). La fabbrica si trasferì a Schiedam per avere maggior spazio, ma restano nel cafè, che aprì nel 1978, diversi riordi tra cui le botti e una grossa pompa metallica di Gin, oltre ad un'antica scala a chiocciola.
Molto graziosa e apprezzabile d'estate la piccola terrazza sull'acqua, accanto alla quale spesso ormeggiano le barche per andare a prendere un drink al #cafè.

Il mulino è il posto giusto! La Brouwerij 't Ij è un punto di ritrovo per local ed expat, nonchè una delle più famose fabbriche di birre artigianali del Nord Olanda, in una location suggestiva.
