Private shore excursion Alesund-Geiranger round trip.

My guests, a huge family from the USA, Utah (something new, usually Minnesota), arrived in Ålesund on the cruise ship Norwegian Star.

And oh horror 🫣there was no Geiranger on their route 😳
What to do? We have to go 🤷‍♀️
I never get tired of admiring the weather (today +32, proof in stories)!
This was a great 8 hour tour. All the way, guests admire Storfjord and cute villages with farms, goats🐐, sheep🐏🐑 and cows🐄🐄🐄

Then we need to take a quick photo with the fjord in the background as we cross over on the ferry.
Upon arrival in Geiranger, guests embark on a cruise along the Geirangerfjord.
And then - the obligatory panorama of Geiranger as in the pictures and a walk along the waterfall.

On the Eagles’ Road we, of course, take a natural shower from the waterfall above the road, then dry off along the way on the way to Ålesund.
That’s how fun 😄and energetic this tour is 🤩

Yes, I know that neither photos 📸nor videos 🎥can convey all the beauty of those places, but you still need to have an idea

Trollstigen is still half open. This means that you can only visit the top, the plateau, but driving along the road is still dangerous, the Trolls 👿 🧌 are still playing pranks and throwing stones!
But is this only about Troll Road? You can’t even imagine how much beauty awaits you along the way 😍
Both the guests and I moaned protractedly, showing each other where to look.
Eh, the same will happen to you, believe me 😁.

On the way to Trollland, we stopped in the warmest place in our region, Sunnmøre. Here, in the village of Sylte, there are luxurious gardens with apple trees, plum trees, apricots and cherries. And all this is blooming and fragrant with a breathtaking view of Storfjord.
The grass is already waist-deep and waiting for the sheep 🐏 and goats 🐐 to visit the summer pastures.

Since Trollstigen is closed from October to May, Uniktur offers an excellent substituting- Romsdal Gondola 🚠 with breathtaking views towards Troll 🧌 Wall, Troll 🧌 Valley and Romsdalsfjord 👍.
I remember a time without that comfortable and exciting gondola ride, with a gruelling climb of 6 or more hours. That’s why I fully agree with the expression that The Romsdal gondola has been named the best facility of the year 2021!
Directly from the center of Åndalsnes, surrounded by the famous Troll Mountains and fjords, in just 5 minutes the Romsdal gondola takes you to the top of Mount Nesaksla, at an altitude of 708 meters above sea level. Romsdal Gondola is the first sustainable gondola in Norway.

Everything happened suddenly. The fire started 23/01/1904 a quarter past 2 AM at Aspøya island in the Alesund Preserving factory.

Mystical facts.
Never before and never after had the town such a strong hurricane like in that night.

Despite valiant efforts at suppression, the hard wind-driven fire destroyed much of the Alesund. In total, the fire destroyed nearly 900 houses with 10000 homeless people 🙈…

Very often it seems to my tourists that every Norwegian has a dog.
It’s often said that dogs are people’s best friends - they make great company, are loyal and can really add a little fun to a boring or lonely life.
In Norway, the bond between people and dogs seems even stronger than anywhere else in the world. You’ll often see a Norwegian with a dog, be it the stately Norwegian Elkhund on Norway’s picturesque western fjords or the pampered Chihuahua on the streets of my own charming Ålesund. Norway 🇳🇴 loves dogs.
The most popular breed in Norway is the German Shepherd. This type of dog is known for its courageous nature, and like most other dogs, it’s also loyal. On top of that, German Shepherds are focused and trainable animals. They may have a reputation as a guard dog but they are much more than, and perhaps this is why they are the country’s top dog.
✳️ The second most popular breed is the Norwegian Elkhound. This dog is native to Norway 🇳🇴 and it sure looks like it belongs here! It’s fluffy, which means it’s protected from the harsh Norwegian winters, and strong.
✳️ My dog Felix belongs to the old noble Dutch breed Keeshond. Even though these are very beautiful dogs, they are still not popular in the world 🌎 . The restoration of this breed began at the beginning of the 20th century in Great Britain.
My Felix is N2 in Ålesund and N48 in 🇳🇴 Norway 🤷‍♀️.
