Bjarka is docked and will be well prepared for next season.
We have retreated to our camp and filled out storage with dried fish, meat, turnips, ramson and mead, and will strengthen up for a next spring.

Bjarka the viking ship is getting ready for the season. Viking ships were the most advanced vessels of their time, used by the Vikings for exploration, trade, and warfare. These ships were designed to be both swift and sturdy, with a shallow draft that allowed them to navigate shallow waters and a flexible design that made them ideal for long voyages. Viking ships were also equipped with a range of advanced technologies, including a keel, a rudder, and a sail, which allowed them to travel further and faster than any other ships of their era. Our Story

Rollo's Footsteps offers the ultimate Viking experience through modern Ålesund, with focus on how the life was during the time, when Norway was consolidated into one Viking kingdom and the famous Viking, Rollo grew up. Our tour is designed for visitors to have the best cultural experience from Norway.

All our guides tell the Viking stories based on the sagas and the lore’s that are passed down from one generation to the next. We share tales of life in this time of culture and controversy, with the historical text being presented as a theatrical performance.

Rollo’s footsteps is designed for small groups of 10-30 people. It is relaxed, informal, personal, with real Vikings, stories and experiences.
