This is a very interesting read for anyone interested in tourism and travelling.
While presenting during our start up incubator’s demo day we mentioned this idea that every human is an ambassador of its country and culture, wherever he happens to be - and with that we bear the responsibility of humbleness and respect - towards our host country and country we come from.

A new book chronicles the power that travel has to transform places around the world, for better or worse – and asks us to consider that the label "tourist" can be a good one.

Vjetrenica (uttalt [ʋjɛtrɛ̌nitsa], som betyr “vindhule” eller “blåsehull”) er den største og viktigste hule i Bosnia-Hercegovina, og en av de viktigste hulene i fjellområdet Dinaric Alps, som er kjent over hele verden for sin karstic og speleological rikdom. Den ligger i Popovo-feltet i Ravno.
I dag ble Vjetrenica oppført på UNESCOs verdensarvliste. Gratulerer!

Hvorfor - Heartland?

Ideen og første motto “Experience through the heart” ble laget i 2019. Mirsad ønsket å koble to fakta - at Bosnia-Hercegovina er formet som et hjerte, og at hver erfaring - for å være verdifull - må føles i våre hjerter.

Grim days for tourism...and hard times for everyone.
A little update from us is that we have completed our startup program ran by .no and we are eagerly waiting to see what the world will look like once we are free to roam and travel again.
Crossing fingers that it happens as soon as possible! 🤞

⚡️Read what founder Ena from the travel startup says about being part of our program:

🔑Participating in Charge not only gave us a springboard to dare to launch our business, but it also made me feel more connected. Being an immigrant in Norway can feel quite isolating, especially if you want to make a new path for your future, instead of just following the beaten track (and even that can be pretty challenging here, to be honest!).

🔑Charge helped me gain confidence and belief that I can achieve my goals, no matter how impossible they may sound. It’s alright to dare, it’s desirable to dream!

This photo was taken 20 years ago, by Dinno Kasalo and for me it embodies the beauty, strength and excitement that Bosnia and Herzegovina has to offer.
I was a high-schooler when I first saw it, on a poster advertising the local climbing club in our home town, Zenica. I still remember the moment and the feeling I felt whan I saw it: energy and pride intertwined. It was a realisation that a man can be strong and flexible, both at the same time, and a feeling that nature can be harsh and nurturing, also both at the same time.
Today we celebrate Independence Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I wish everyone who appreciate our country and celebrate this special day with us: to be as strong as our mountains, vigorous as our rivers and brave like our people.

Kravice waterfall near Čapljina, in Herzegovina. This moody river disappears and resurges a couple times in these karst suffoundings, and each time it reappears - it gets a new name (more accurately - 9!)

This photo was shot during the International Memorial Action to Lupoglav. I think that, besides honoring and remembering unfortunate climbers, this event should have educational and precautionary function - to teach and prevent the same tragedies happening again.
The story of the climb can be recounted many times, but it’s difficult to be told entirely. You’d have to live it.
People who haven’t done anything similar might consider it completely insane - carrying the equipment that is 1/3 of your entire weight, on your back during 1400m elevation gain, sleeping in a tent in winter conditions, reaching the 2102m height “adorned” with iron crampons on your winter boots, secured and tied around your waist, with a helmet on...that is understandable only to the ones who LOVE the mountains.
Above all, praying at the very mountain top was an experience beyond words...
Mountaineering, climbing, hiking transforms a person, offers a chance for new experience, knowledge, makes you resilient, adjusted, stable.
This weekend for me was magical. I got the chance to climb to the top. It was my second time, but the experience was different altogether.
And I am forever grateful for good company, stable roping, cheerful people - and I hope we have all brought something important out of this adventure, hopefully safety, knowledge, estimating risks and above all, assessing your own capabilities...
