MS Fram sailed from the southernmost to the northernmost point of South America. On the way from Antarctica we sailed from the dreaded Cape Horn to the northernmost point of the continent Punta Gallinas in Colombia. When I realized the importance of the moment, I decided to celebrate it with you a little and I prepared a video with the animals we met on the way. Let me know how you like them? And don't worry, I'll share the photo report from the cruise here soon.
It’s time to blow your minds with some unbelievable statistics. Yesterday, guests of MS Fram had the privilege of exploring the Sermeq Kujalleq Glacier in Ilulissat, Greenland. This UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts the worlds fastest moving glacier (advancing 20-40 meters per day). Since the year 2000, it has calved an estimated 40-60 billion tons of ice into our oceans making it solely responsible for approximately 3% of global sea level rise.

Svalbard Wildlife with MS Fram
We've been enjoying a truly epic voyage on the Fram this week in Svalbard! The entire expedition team has been hard at work spotting wildlife, and we've been very fortunate with our sightings. Polar bears, belugas, fin whales, reindeer, walrus, arctic fox & even blue whales have graced us with their presence during this expedition! Make sure to watch until the end to glimpse the largest animal our planet has ever seen.
If you're on board with us currently, we'd love to know what your favourite encounter or experience has been thus far? We know it will be hard to choose! As always, feel free to share this post with your friends and family☺️

As one first sets foot on South Georgia, the bustle of activity radiating from the wildlife can be overwhelming. As your senses acclimatize to this new world, special moments start to emerge from within the chaos. This window into wild South Georgia is uncensored. Playful seal pups and nursing young can be enjoyed only feet away from the more graphic scenes of death, reminding us that these are equally important parts of the circle of life. #hurtigrutenexpeditions
Science session
The Falklands host an amazing variety of algae, seaweeds and intertidal life. The Science Team of MS Fram recently collected samples while on an expedition ashore and then offered a session onboard to delve deeper into this fascinating world. Through the lens of our high-powered microscopes, guests marvelled at the colours and processes normally hidden to the naked eye. #hurtigrutenexpeditions
As MS Fram sets sail from the Falklands for the final time this season, we look back fondly to the rich wildlife we encountered. Although it is late in the season, guests witnessed 4 species of penguin in all stages of molt, elephant seals, black-browed albatross, sea lions, and any number of smaller birds. Next stop will be the unforgettable South Georgia! #hurtigrutenexpeditions
As MS Fram leisurely makes her way back across the Drake, a flood of memories from the last week overwhelm us. For the wildlife lovers, every day presented new opportunities to observe iconic creatures going about their daily lives, unbothered by our curious pauses.
