There are eighteen Norwegian Scenic Routes in Norway. Ten of the roads are located in Western Norway, most of them along the beautiful and mighty fjords. Common to them all is that the roads are going through some of the wildest and most beautiful scenery that Norway has to offer.

NOTE – On 20 June 2024, it was decided that the Trollstigen Mountain Road will be closed for the whole of 2024 due to the high risk of rockfalls. The road at the back of Trollstigen, between Valldal and the Trollstigen Plateau, is open during the summer season.

The Sognefjord is the lifeblood, indeed the main artery of the villages that lie along the fjord and of the people who live there. The longest fjord is the very reason why these fjord villages exist and that they are located where they do. Solvorn by the Lustrafjord, Fjærland by the Fjærlandsfjord and Undredal by the Aurlandsfjord are great examples of vibrant fjord villages in the area around the Sognefjord and its branches, read about them at www.fjords.com/solvorn-fjaerland-undredal-vibrant-fjord-villages-by-the-sognefjord/

The Romsdalsfjord, Geirangerfjord and Hjørundfjord are the three most beautiful and best-known fjords in the fjord county of Møre og Romsdal. You can do this drive in a day, but if you spend a week or two, you will get so much more. Season is summer, after the winter-closed mountain roads have opened for the summer.

Today we congratulate Norway on it´s Constitution Day☀️🌱🇳🇴
The 17th of May is first and foremost the Children's Day, and today we can eat as much ice cream and sausages as we like. Therefore we would like to extend an extra big THANK YOU to the farmer who work tirelessly every day to provide us with food and to decorate our fjord landscape. If it hadn´t been for the farmer and the livestock, the landscape surrounding our fjords would not be as beautiful as it is today.

Hardanger in the spring with snow-covered mountain peaks, green valleys, waterfalls and rivers, narrow fjords and blooming apple trees is a beautiful sight.

It all happens in May. Usually the apple trees start to bloom around the middle of May. The blooming lasts for three to four weeks. But the time may vary from year to year. It depends, among other things, on the type of apple trees, weather, temperature and solar conditions. See www.fjords.com/blossom-in-hardanger/
