Ant Lambert on his own in the wilderness after joining the Arctic Expedition Course a few weeks ago. Ant and his mate Louis have set out on a mission to cross the worlds 5 largest islands. They have already crossed Madagaskar, Papua new Guinea and Borneo. Now is the time for the two coldest island - Greenland and Baffin. The boys are taking their preparations seriously and doing what they should: putting 80% of the effort in BEFORE the expedition and 20% after. Most explorers do the opposite...

Our Arctic Training & Expeditions Courses are run almost every Wednesday to Sunday throughout the winter and are for anyone who wants to get a good taste of how it is to participate on a polar expedition or want to prepare for a winter tour on your own. The course will cover everything you need to know about how to dress, what equipment you will need, how to put up your tent in a storm, how to organize your camp and get a good nights sleep, what to eat and drink and how to survive and thrive in cold environments. Mentality, leadership, and attitude are important parts of the course. We call it "the art of polar thinking and survival". Join us this winter - the courses run until April.

The World comes to Norway to learn how to be cold. According to Business Insider, The US Marine Corps will extend its training and exercise rotation in Norway through 2018, the Norwegian defense minister said this week.

"We are pleased to announce that — following an initial evaluation of the limited trial-period — we are extending the USMC rotational presence for another year," Norwegian Defense Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide announced on Wednesday.

US Marines arrived in Norway in January for cold-weather training, and Moscow has objected to the deployment since it was announced late last year.

We love eating and staying at Kirkebyfjellet Konferansesenter. Our guests always love the warm hospitality! The hotel is just 30meters from the alpine slopes and there are 130km prepared cross-country skiing tracks around here.

We are traveling with Carly, visiting from Vermont, USA. She's the lucky winner of the Extraordinary Expereinces competition at World Nomads. She won among 44,000 applicants! We took Carly to Dovrefjell for Arctic Training & Expedition course. It's always fun to share these 'extraordinary experiences' with our guests. Follow our adventure on our social media!
