"Swayambhunath Stupa", also known as the Monkey Temple, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Nepal’s most sacred landmarks. The name Swayambhu means "self-existent" or "self-created," reflecting the myth that the stupa emerged spontaneously when the Kathmandu Valley was drained of its primordial lake. Perched atop a hill overlooking Kathmandu, this ancient stupa, believed to be over 2,500 years old, is a symbol of spirituality for Buddhists and Hindus alike. Its iconic white dome and golden spire, adorned with the all-seeing eyes of Buddha, symbolize wisdom and compassion. Encircled by prayer wheels and smaller shrines, the site exudes serenity, while playful monkeys add charm to its sacred ambiance. Visitors flock here for its rich history, spiritual significance, and breathtaking panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley. 🇳🇵
