Tent Peak, also known as Tharpu Chuli, is located right in the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary, just south of Annapurna Base Camp and directly opposite Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). It is commonly known as Tent Peak due to its shape. Its central location makes it an ideal trekking peak, usually combined with the popular Annapurna Base Camp trek. From Tent Peak's base camp you continue along the route crossing the glacier towards the North West Ridge. Although the peak is somewhat less challenging than Mera or Island Peak, it does provides some ice and snow difficulties and the ridge becomes knife edged towards the summit, making for an interesting climb. From the summit you will get an unparalleled view of the entire Annapurna Sanctuary, a breathtaking circle of hanging glaciers and moraines surround by a semicircle of some of the world’s highest peaks. This peak provides a good opportunity for those who want to take the next step up from trekking to mountaineering.

Ama dablam summit Peak Nepal adventure Pvt ltd Overview
Ama Dablam (6.812m) is a mountain located in Himalayas of Nepal, in the Khumbu region, known as the “Matterhorn of the Himalayas”. The unique pyramid shape characterizes this mountain. Ama Dablam is a technical mountain and a big challenge. It is the third most popular Himalayan peak for permitted expeditions. The main peak is 6.812m, Ama Dablam means “Mother’s necklace”, the long ridge on each side like the arms of the mother (ama) protecting her child, and the hanging glacier thought as the Dablam.

Peak Nepal adventure Pvt ltd ama dablam Season and Weather
The best months to climb Ama Dablam are April-May and October-November (before and after monsoon). In April and May, the weather is more inconstant. Those months are expected from snow and ice to heat and warm rain. In September the weather stabilizes and gets warmer. The duration of the expedition lasts about 25 days depending on the client’s physical conditions.

Camp 2 ama dablam Peak Nepal adventure Pvt ltd Route
The Southwest ridge is the most popular route. Climbers set up three camps along the ridge with camp 3 just below and to the right of the hanging glacier, the Dablam. For a couple of days, you will acclimatize to the basecamp (4600m) while guides fix the route and prepare the camps. The climbing from the base camp to camp 1 (5.650m) is quite long and it takes about 5-6 hours. There are some large boulders to encounter and cairns mark the route. It is easy to get off the route and you have to stay high for safety. Camp 1 to camp 2 lasts about 2-5 hours and it is some of the best climbing on the route. The first hour is traversing granite blocks. The traversing of the Yellow Tower is quite hard as you have to keep your tension on the ropes and don’t climb high. The Yellow Tower is the technical part of the route. Camp 2 to camp 3 lasts 3-6 hours. After a section of mixed ground and snow follows the grey tower, it is around 200m high and there are loose rocks, When you leave the Grey Tower come the Mushroom ridge. The fixed lines run an effective way, you have to be stable on your crampons and focus. From the camp 3 to the summit there is alpine ice and snow climbing. The climb above 6.400m is a mix of ice and snow depending on the season and the conditions. The way to the summit is about 4 hours climbing.

Ama dablam expedition Preparation
Climbers must be in excellent physical shape to join this expedition. The ropes are fixed the whole way to the summit; you need to be able to climb steep rock and hard water ice, carrying a big pack. It is required that climbers have a previous experience at altitudes up to 6000m. You need to have certain skills and a level of understanding about the equipment you will be using. Many months exercise is necessary to gain a good level of fitness that is needed for high altitude. You need to be physiologically prepared for High altitude conditions.

Island Peak, also known as Imja Tse, is a 6,189m/20,305ft tall mountain in Nepal’s eastern Himalayas, the peak falls in Sagarmatha National Park which also hosts the famous Everest Region. When you view the peak from Dingboche, it appears as if it an island surrounded by a sea of ice. So, Eric Shipton’s expedition party named it Island Peak in 1951. Our 17-day-long Island Peak Climbing expedition aims to take you to the top of the Island peak through some of the most challenging parts of the Everest region.
