According to Hindu mythology, Gosaikunda was dug by Lord Shiva using his trident (Trishul) as he searched for ice cold water to get rid of the poison he had consumed in order to save the universe.

On April 25, 2015, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal, triggering massive landslides and avalanches that killed and injured thousands. Pasang Lhamu Sherpa Akita, one of Nepal’s rising climbing stars, tirelessly helped in relief efforts in the most remote mountain villages.

Awesome news!! We have managed to raise over US$ 18,000 in just under a week. Thank you to every one who has donated their time and money to this effort!

We are now getting ready to place purchase orders for earthquake resilient metal frames and corrugated steel sheet roofs for eighteen सुरक्षित घर- Resilient Homes.

We have also increased our goal to $40,000 so that we can target our activities towards helping the locals build community toilets and ensure proper sanitation, improve access to safe drinking water through usage of water filters, assist in the rebuilding of a school in a neighboring village and assist in the rebuilding of homes in a neighboring village.

We are not done yet. Help us keep going by spreading this effort in your circle of friends and family.
