Accommodations
We will be staying at Hotel Moonlight in Kathmandu which is a 3-star hotel. For the trek we will be using lodges or teahouses for accommodations. All accommodations are on twin-shared basis. Single supplement will be served on request and will cost an additional USD 310.
Meals
We will be provided all meals during the trek while buffet-style breakfast will be made available in Kathmandu. Most lodges/teahouses in the mountains will serve Nepali, Indian, Tibetan and the more common continental dishes. While trekking we have breakfast and dinner from the lodge menu whereas lunch will be taken on route to the next destination. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners.
Physical Condition & Experience Requirements
Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri Trek is a moderate trek. If we are able to walk for around 5-6 hours each day we can easily trek for longer hours with a light back pack. The trek is relatively easier for those who are used to walking in higer elevations. Himalayan Glacier requests its guests to jog and exercise regulary at least a few months before the beginning of the trip. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. It is also important that we consult with our doctor before booking the trek. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases should also inform Himalayan Glacier before booking the trek.
Best Time to Travel
We can do Gokyo Lakes and Gokyo Ri Trek during Autumn (Sept. to November) and Spring (March to May) seasons. During this time the sky is clear and the views are excellent. The weather is fit for trekking without rain. We can also enjoy lush vegetation on the lower regions of the trail particularly during the spring season.

Mera peak trek
Our Mera Peak climbing itinerary has been carefully designed to trek the longer and less trodden trails with gradual ascents to ensure proper acclimatization. We are confident that by this longer route you will achieve it. After an exciting flight to Lukla, we begin the Mera Peak trek via the remote region of the Hinku valley of Pangkongma and Panch Pokhari on our way to base camp. To make the summit day shorter and enjoyable, we set our high camp at 5800 meter on a rocky shelf behind a large vertical rock, which provides some degree of shelter. The panoramic view seen from our Mera High Camp is truly breathtaking and probably one of the best of its kind. The climbing summit day starts early in morning and we approach the Mere peak top by the northern route – this involves gradual climb with an outstanding mountain panorama always in sight. The view from the summit is one of the finest in the Himalayas with five spectacular 8000 meter peaks visible. Mt.Everest (8848m), Cho-Oyu (8201m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8463m), Kanchenjunga (8586m) as well as Nuptse (7855m) and Chamlang (7319m) – an unforgettable experience. We trek out a shorter route back to Luka via the Zetra la to end the challenging expedition trip of Mera peak climbing- an adventure journey of lifetime in the Himalaya.
