Janmashtami: Honoring the Divine Playfulness and Wisdom of Lord Krishna

Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu, was born to Queen Devaki and King Vasudeva in Mathura to defeat the tyrant King Kansa. Raised by Nanda and Yashoda in Gokul, Krishna was known for his divine powers, playful mischief, and wisdom. His teachings in the Bhagavad Gita focus on dharma (righteousness) and devotion. Today, Krishna's birth, celebrated as Janmashtami, inspires millions through his stories and lessons of divine love and justice.

On Janmashtami, it is a popular tradition for families to dress small children as Lord Krishna. Adorned in colorful attire, peacock feathers, flutes, and jewelry, the children symbolize Krishna's childhood, representing innocence and divine playfulness. This joyful tradition is observed with devotion, bringing Krishna's presence into each household, while families offer prayers and celebrate his birth with great enthusiasm.

CHHATH PUJA

Chhath Puja ist ein hinduistisches Fest, das die Sonne als Quelle der Lebensenergie verehrt. Es ist besonders in Nordindien und Nepal verbreitet und betont die Verehrung der Naturkräfte.

Der Bagmati-Fluss in Nepal ist ein Ort, an dem Chhath Puja-Zeremonien stattfinden können.
