Our amazing guests dance to the rhythm of Nepali songs in traditional attire at Panauti Community Homestay . Women don the elegant saree, draped around the waist with one end gracefully resting on the shoulder. Men, on the other hand, proudly sport the dhaka topi, an integral part of Nepal's national dress. It's a delight to witness our guests immerse themselves in our local culture and have a great time.
Embracing local life through community homestays goes beyond cultural immersion. It's about forging lasting connections, supporting local economies and women-run businesses, and preserving cherished traditions.

Happy Gai Jatra to all! 🐄🎉
Ever heard of Gai Jatra, the lively festival celebrated right after Gunhi Punhi? It is celebrated late in August or early September, this year it is celebrated on 31st August at Bhaktapur and on 1st September in other towns. In Bhaktapur, the festivities stretch for 7 days, leading up to Krishna Janmashtami.
🎭 People don eccentric costumes, dance, sing, and offer satirical glimpses into our world's realities. But it's not just about fun; Gai Jatra honors departed loved ones, reminding us that no one walks the path of loss alone.
Each place, be it Bhaktapur, Kirtipur, or Patan, adds its unique flair to the parade. The video above captures Bhaktapur's Taha-Macha, a bamboo chariot adorned with flowers, carrying the picture of the departed at its heart. Led by Taha Macha of Bhairab and Ajima Badrakali, this spectacle signifies opening the gates of heaven for our ancestors, granting them moksha (liberation). Traditional Newari music, Bhajan, cultural dances like Maka pyakhan and Ghintang ghisi grace the festivities.

🙏Warm wishes of ‘Gunla’ festival to everyone – the tenth month of Nepal Sambat lunar calendar.
During this sacred one month festival, the Newar Buddhists immerse themselves in reciting scriptures, embracing fasts (avoiding meat and alcohol), and visiting temples while serenading the divine with devotional melodies.🎶 The Gunla #festival holds a special place in #Newar Buddhism, carrying forward the ancient tradition of rains retreat when monks stayed, taught, and shared the wisdom of Dharma.
It is believed that in ancient times, excessive rain brought devastation to mud houses, causing floods and sadness. Seeking solace and safety, people began to climb to Swayambhu, playing devotional music from its elevated haven. It's believed that's how the Gunla festival came into existence.
May the spiritual essence of #Gunla bring you peace, harmony, and a profound connection to tradition. 🙏📜✨

On the 29th of July, we went on a hike (RMT and CHN). The weather was gloomy when we reached our first stop, where we ate our breakfast. After a heavy breakfast, we took to our first hiking destination, "Shanti Dham," a temple 🛕 dedicated to God Vishnu. After that, we hiked onwards to the flag park, from where we had a really great view of Kathmandu city.
The view tower was also a great place for viewing the city. It started raining cats and dogs as we hiked to "Tarkeshor Temple," another beautiful temple of Lord Shiva where many devotees were singing Lord Shiva's prayers. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful. After having an amazing four hours of hike, we went to tapoban for a delicious local lunch. It was an amazing hike with the best breathtaking views of hills.
A hike in nature is a great way to escape from the chaos and to relax from within!✨️ Thanks to our colleagues and our amazing guide team, who made the hike more enjoyable!!!🤗
