Dudhkunda Lake Trek You combine nights spent in local tea houses at the lower altitudes with a wilderness camping compon Welcome to Kathmandu. Overnight at a lodge in Phaplu.

13-day trek gets you off the beaten track to explore lesser known villages and the wilder places of the lower Everest region. You combine nights spent in local tea houses at the lower altitudes with a wilderness camping component as you go well off the beaten path to visit the sacred ‘Dudh K***a’ lake. Day 1: Arriving at the international airport and transfer to hotel. Our staff will meet you at t

he airport and transfer you to our hotel. Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Phaplu 9 hours by private 4W land cruiser
We will leave Kathmandu in our private 4W land cruiser to Phaplu. The path follows the Sunkoshi River which joins Tama Koshi River further ahead on our drive forming a large Koshi River until reaching Ghurmi. We will enjoy typical Nepali food and continue our drive along the dense rhododendron forests. We will pass numerous settlement areas before reaching Phaplu which will take approximately take 9 hours to reach. We will explore the local bazaar and observe the lifestyle of the inhabiting people. Day 3: Trek from Phaplu to Ringmo
As we walk from Phaplu, we will begin to get glimpses of the beauty of Nepal from the aerial views. The different geographical settings of Nepal can be seen to be arranged beautifully. The grey and white mountains are subtly followed by green lush hills and immense river systems to create a natural paragon. We will trek to Ringmo for 3-4 hours walking which is through lush green meadows and a red blooming forest of rhododendrons. Overnight at lodge in Ringmo. Day 4: Trek from Ringmo to Sarsar Beni (3800m)
Today, we will gain quite an altitude to the yak pasture land of Sarsar Beni. We will be walking quite a long time today and is quite tiring on a steep trail. As mostly shrubs grow here, this area is mostly brown in color and also provides the possibility of witnessing a few different types of wildlife in this area. Our tired body will feel much better as we reach Beni and get a view of the beautiful mountains. Overnight at tented camp in Sarsar Beni. Day 5: We climb up to Dudh K***a (4561m) and back to Sarsar Beni
After breakfast, we will begin our climb to Dudh K***a which literally translates to Milky Lake. We will meet another lake as we make our way, called the Kalo Pokhari. Local belief says that you ought to visit the lake while you hike up and cannot be seen after you visit Dudh K***a. Many other folklores surround this area. When we reach the lake, we will be able to see a darkish blue-tinged water with the backdrop of Karyolung (6,681) and Numbur (6,959m) towering over it. This is an ideal location for photo making and enjoying the peace and serenity. From here we will move down to Sarsar Beni. Day 6: Sarsar Beni — climbing to a pass over Pare Dande and down to Junbesi
We will pass Pare Danda which is a ridge with great lush pasture lands. We will be able to see the panoramic view of the Himalayas which gives it an overwhelming feeling. Passing the ridge we further make our way to the village of Sherpas’ called Junbesi which also houses many famous monasteries which can be explored for the rest of the day. Overnight at lodge in Junbesi. Day 7: From Junbesi we walk down to Beni and climb then up to the airfield of Phaplu. Today, we will descend to the river Basa with beautiful views of the mountains in the Everest region keeping us company. As today marks the last day of walking, we have the time to think and reflect back upon our accomplishments and the learnings of the trek in the Himalayas. Time spent in the Himalayas change the person in ways that they may not even have imagined. From Beni, we will walk upon the airstrip of Phaplu. Overnight at lodge in Phaplu. Day 8: Drive from Phaplu to Kathmandu by private land cruiser
With the great view of the Himalayas, we shall take a drive back to Kathmandu. The scenery from above is completely different and awe-inspiring. We will reach Kathmandu and have a chance to give much-required rest to our sore legs. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu. Day 9: After breakfast transfer to the international airport. After breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home. Pricing for Group Size Basis:

Many say that the view of Mount Everest from Pikey Peak is one of the best in Nepal. That’s a bold statement, but Sir Edmund Hillary himself claimed it to be his favorite, and we're inclined to agree. This trek can be done in three full-on days, or a more leisurely six.
