In founding "YETI Trekking & Mountaineering" in 1968, Ghana Shyam Paudel followed in the footsteps of his uncle B. P. Parajuli who organized the ninth British expedition in which Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay became the first confirmed mountaineers to summit Everest.
Since, "YETI Trekking & Mountaineering" has organized more than a thousand hikes in the hills at the foot of the Himalayas, 311 expeditions above 6000 m, 74 above 8000 m and a dozen to the summit of Everest. Among these, G. S. Paudel organized the expedition of the Japanese Junko Tabei, the first woman to climb Mount Everest to the summit.
