Ashok KC captures the golden hours, bridge, and busy fringe of his hometown and its periphery in Baglung and Parbat. 🇳🇵

The images depict the magnificent terraces of village, where inhabitants are still working on their farm tasks despite the setting sun. A gentle flick to your cell screen will also assist you in exploring the intact structure of hilly havens. 🏡

The vibrant outskirts of , Nepal's longest bridge over the holy Kaligandaki river, the Jomsom-Pokhara highway beneath, and the lovely villages of Pang are more than enough to keep a roaming spirit with itchy feet busy. 👣

On a positive note, the area has recently been visited by national and international adventurers making their way to . ⚙️

It's at a swift drive of 72 km west from the provincial state of Gandaki Pradesh, Pokhara. It's a typical hilly district with dozens of hillocks, rivers, and Nepal's only hunting reserve in . Most importantly, it is known as the "district of suspension bridges" because it is home to over 1000 suspended connectors. 💥

Gandaki Golden Bridge, the longest of its kind in Nepal, spans 567 meters and crosses the holy Kali Gandaki River. It connects Baglung Municipality -01, Bangechaur, to Kushma Municipality -01, Aduwabari, Parbat district. 📸

The bewildering beauty of Bhakunde - Baraha Taal!🌻

Sharing the iconic, aerial capture by my Pokhara-based friend, Rohit Giri during his exploration of Baglung and the periphery. 👣

Since this place holds a unique meaning where this curious soul was born and bred, I have managed to
show you guys the other, different shades of this boutique pond. 💚

About 📍 Baraha Taal || Must-visit wetland in Baglung 🇳🇵

Enriched with vegetational as well as aquatic elements of nature, this boutique lake rests at an altitude of 1,329m from sea level. 😊

Previously located in Bhakunde-7, Daha, the holy pond of Baraha is enclosed under Baglung Municipality -10, according to the new federal division. It can be accessed within an hour of a hike from Baglung Bazaar.🥾

Furthermore, the lake entails trees named "Baiss" i.e. Willow Trees, in its center, which makes the destination more appealing.

Lastly, there is an ancient saying that "रुखका पातहरु पानीमा झर्दैनन, झरी हाले भने, चराले टिपेर लैजान्छ"। ☀️

Happy to hear that Nepal is being a noteworthy filming destination in the world. ❣️

Lately, the frequent visits by the crew and artists of Bollywood, world-renowned vloggers, and the mighty Internet is pushing Nepal to Hollywood's circumference. 🇳🇵

Having said that, the contribution of Nepalis homegrown filmmakers, Miss Nepal of the corresponding year, content creators, and photographers is unparallel. 🙏

Not to forget, Kathmandu's Mayor, Mr. B***n Shah, has also exercised his agenda to develop Kathmandu, the capital, as a foreign film shooting destination.⚡( 👐 )

That shy but exploratory shade of a local Bhai, Roshan Shreesh Magar, 18, who had shown us the trail to Dude Lekh, from Thulo Hile Tarakhola Baglung. 👣

He belongs to the Magar Community of western Baglung. The community not only arranged for us with local dwellers but also managed snacks for us. The Roti Tarkari was served atop Dude Lekh, 3550m. The uphill hike was of 4/5 hours. The locally established trail was tainted with domestic animals, guests alike internal tourists, and mainly wooden logs. 👐

This alternative route to Dhorpatan from Tamankhola and Tarakhola was more familiar with the rebels of the Civil War. The route connects Baglung with Myagdi, Rukum to Rolpa- the epicenter of the movement. 🇳🇵

That day, after Roshan's group, returned home helping us to descend to Tamankhola, we walked till midnight. On top of that, the rigorous walk was full of confusion. Thank God, the Chairperson of Tamankhola RM rescued us safely. 🙏

How could I forget to mention the generous help of Tarakhola RM's Chairperson, Prakash Gharti Magar, and the community-led homestay at Thulo Hile?

Special gratitude to Roshan and his friends. 💚

Dude Lek is more famous than Dur Lek among locals. Yes, the hilltop is located far away.☀️

Had a grand experience yesterday tainting the untainted route in Kavre explored by the team Hike For Nepal.👣

The outskirts of Panauti around Malpi, Simchaur, and Amilchaur is blessed with Rhododendrons, terrace farming, numerous ridges with iconic hillocks, and most importantly ~ dispersed human settlement.🇳🇵

Thanks to the host, fellow hikers and strangers turned known faces. 🖐️

Can't wait to be a part of another hike esp. outside of Kathmandu. More tidbits are on the way. 😀

The old religious destination of Baglung Kalika being renovated hides in the Terai-like forested plateau in the hills, at the entry point, just minutes of ride from Maldhunga.

Lived and ate like a local, dwelled like a tourist 🇳🇵

During my recent visit to Pumdikot Village of Baral people to the southwestern portion of Pokhara, the emerging Shiva statue vantage point, we explored, unlike others. 👣

Following the local's tainted trail, the back and rear parts of the settlements locals used to commute in the village on our halfway, I encountered beautifully this structure called Tagaro i.e. a structure made up of bamboo and stone generally used to safeguard our premises and is often used as the entry/close point. These types of entrances yet popular back then and used for boundary marking and are already on the verge of extinction. 🏡

Just before posing here, we had gossipped with a local family for a couple of minutes. The couple shared in a nostalgic tone that they used to walk on foot to Pokhara and return within a few hours for their shopping/trade purposes.📱

To Dahare Deurali, Parbat and Syangja, Gandaki Province, Nepal 🇳🇵

Named after the sage Dahara, who had meditated and prayed for several decades, the religious hillock of Dahare Deurali sits at the border of Parbat and Syangja. 🌟

It lies in Phalewas Municipality -01, Parbat and Arjunchaupari RM - 05 & Aadhikhola RM-01, Syangja.

At the base of this iconic hill, 2,275m above sea level, there rest two houses hosting frequent pilgrims and Pujari Baa, the worshipper and the caretaker. 🏡

Listed as the 100 most popular destinations of Gandaki Pradesh, this holy Deurali offers astonishing vistas of almost all parts of it ~ including the Dhaulagiri to Annapurna ranges. 🏔️

The dense forest, grassland, and the location itself are of high probability. I am planning for the nightstand at the base of the hill. Can't wait to be here soon again. ⛺

Once is not enough for this densely vegetated yet must-stop transit somewhere between Champadevi - Chandragiri trail in Chhaap Bhanjhyang.☀️

After two hours of a continuous uphill hike, we can reach Chhap Bhanjyang, 2,275 m, from Machhegaun, Kritipur.👣

From here, It takes two and a half hours to reach Champadevi on left and one and a half hours to Chandragiri on right respectively.

I would recommend a nightstand at Chhaap Bhanjhyang. 👐

Khaula Lankuri - our accidental vantage point on our one-day ride to Dahare Deurali. 👣

After passing ThuliPokhari Bazaar, we paused at a government School and get to know about Khaula Lankuri Kot. 🕉️

Have you noticed? Sometimes, Ghumghaam gets more interesting accidentally which was not planned much.😀

A few clicks from my recent wheeled journey to Dahare Deurali from Kushma via Karkineta, a famous village turned happening bus stop in Phalewas Municipality -01, Parbat. 📸

Compared to Baglung, Myagdi, and Mustang in Dhawalagiri Zone, Parbat has easier roads accessible to the vantage points like Panchase, Banau, Dahare Deurali, Durlung, and more. The expansion of black-topped roads and well-graveled tracks helps riders and travelers to roam according to their original plans. 🥾

From this chowk, the holy hillock of Dahare Deurali is almost half an hour of ride and a couple of uphill hike.👣
