Everest Base Camp is a must- visit- destination for every trekker who wants to set foot at the base of the world's highest peak. After taking 35 minutes exhilarating flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, you will begin trek to Phakding. From Phakding you will follow the classic trail gradually ascending up through Sherpa country, past cultivated fields, small villages, Dudh Koshi valley, Sagarmatha National Park, monasteries until you reach Namche Bazaar at elevation of 3440 m. Namche Bazaar, also considered the gateway to the Khumbu region, is the largest Sherpa village and the major trading centre catering to every needs of trekkers and local villagers alike. Here, you are advised to spend at least two nights for acclimatizing, exploring around before heading to Everest Base Camp. A slow ascent beyond Namche Bazaar offers spectacular mountain scenery, and visit to the famous Tengboche Monastery set against the backdrop of Mt Ama Dablam.
Then, next day we further continue our trek through Dingboche and Chukking valley up to the last human settlement village at Gorakshep. Finally your long-cherished dream comes to fulfill finding yourself at the Everest Base Camp and then ascend to the black rock called Kala Patthar (5545 m) to enjoy spectacular views of south-west face of Mt Everest, Ice fall and surrounding snow-capped peaks. On your return journey you follow the same previous route up to Lukla spending few days along the route at different places.
This trek requires you to be physically fit but not necessary to be an experienced trekker. You can accomplish this trek during March to May (spring season) and Sept to Dec (autumn season).
