Paldor Peak lies at the southeast end of Ganesh Himal marking the junction of the Tiru and Karpu Dandas at the head of the Mailung Khola, a tributary of the Trisuli Gandaki River. The name Ganesh is taken from the elephant-headed Hindu god of good luck, probably the most popular deity in the Kathamndu valley. On a clear day the Ganesh Himal, with the icy fangs of Pabil (7,101m.) Logsang Karpo (7,150m.) The Rolwaling Tashi Lapsa Trek is a very fine but laborious camping style expedition which can be made along the Rolwaling to cross the Tashi Lapcha La (5,755m.) and into the Solu Khumbu. The trek should be accurately equipped for immense snow and ice work, with at least one climbing Sherpa is required. The net result will be satisfying in terms of cultural exposure and visual drama.
