A prohibited fire season is in force for all of Southland until further notice.
A prohibited fire season means a total ban on outdoor fires.

All existing permits are cancelled, and permit holders are advised to extinguish their fires.

Manufactured gas appliances can still be used, such as Gas BBQ, gas heaters or braziers (not that you need one right now!)

Southland is experiencing higher than normal temperatures with lower than normal rain fall. There is a small amount of rain forecast but it’s not enough to reduce the fire danger.

We ask people to be vigilant and to understand the fire dangers, especially while they’re out and about over the long weekend.

Spring is here.. the days are definitely getting longer and warmer, and the blossom is opening... that means fishing season is nearly here (28 sleeps in case you were wondering 😉) we are fully booked for opening weekend BUT do have availability during the school holidays. With the ever increasing numbers of Covid-19 in New Zealand, and worldwide, we have had to make the tough decision to close the Lodge and Holiday Park for the foreseeable future.

This has not been an easy decision but to keep us and you safe it seems to best the option.

If you have a booking at The Lodge over the next few months, your booking still stands.

Remember, if you think you may have symptoms and are travelling NZ and unaware of what to do, Freephone the COVID-19 Health line: 0800 358 5453. Do not go to a medical centre without contacting the health line first.

Changes to New Zealand’s border measures mean most people coming into New Zealand will be required to stay at home (self-isolate) for 14 days.

How cool is this!!! Our new kitchen/laundry/bathroom block has arrived! It will be awhile until its fully functioning but after spending the last season with reduced facilities...we are so excited!

Due to our long awaited new ablution block FINALLY🤞🤞🤞 scheduled to arrive in the early hours of tuesday morning...we will be closed for campers tonight (Monday 24th). There is accommodation available at the Lodge!
