The NZ Traveller Declaration Form (NZTD) is slated to return starting next month and replace our current paper international arrival forms.
You will be able to complete the form online or by downloading the NZTD mobile app. Once finished you will get a confirmation email, but you will not be required to show this on arrival.
Your submission email will let you know what you need to do upon arrival, based on what is in your declaration (i.e. have shoes ready to show if they were used for outdoor activities) and the revamped NZTD will be linked to your passport so when your passport is scanned, the system automatically recognises you have completed the form.
Currently, the rollout will be staggered as below:
• Travellers arriving at Christchurch or Wellington Airport will be able to complete a digital declaration from the week starting 10 July 2023.
• Travellers arriving at Queenstown Airport will be able to complete a digital declaration from mid to late July.
• Travellers arriving at Auckland Airport will be able to complete a digital declaration later in August 2023.
While the digital declaration is being phased in, the existing Passenger Arrival Card will continue to be handed out on-board flights to New Zealand. A new paper version of the NZTD will also be available to support accessibility requirements.
Travellers are not currently required to complete a New Zealand Traveller Declaration. Travellers arriving at selected New Zealand international airports will be able to complete an online declaration from July 2023.
