Viva Expeditions Southern Lights Flight last night. Photos taken with an iPhone using a long exposure app so having a better camera would get a lot more clarity and colour. To the naked eye it was all grey like clouds but my iPhone app picked out the green easily. There are two more dates for this experience; 15 May and 7 August. Wow, what an awesome experience right from New Zealand and so affordable (compared to getting to the Northern Lights). This is one of the most amazing take-your-breath-away things you can do in the water in the whole wide world! take it from me, it's beyond amazing. In Ningaloo Reef you are in a protected area where you get to view these monsters in their natural habitat. Plane's act as spotters and you hop in the water and watch them swim past you (and if you are lucky you see them feeding, their mouths are huge!). Ningaloo Reef is just beautiful. This place is beautiful. In the northern island of Fiji, where tourism hasn't changed much. some of the best snorkelling too. if you're looking for a true Fijian experience and want to get away from it all, this is a great option! it's an extra flight, but well worth it.

Back-Roads touring is an excellent option if you have done the traditional coach tours, but want something a bit smaller and more intimate with amazing experiences and like-minded people, and getting a bit more off the beaten track. excellent for small-ship cruisers needing a land based tour as well. message me for info if this is something you're looking at for 2018.
