Meanwhile, cheers for being open Southpac Trucks Ltd for a last minute pre Xmas airbag!

Nice job Henry Fouwler. What’s that you say.. two weeks mulching with no air con is enough for now..? Yeah fair enough.. 😬. Cheers Tree Tops for the work. Always a pleasure. Except for Henry..

That’s my first official poplar transplant. Thanks Treescape for helping me tick that one off the bucket list!
I’ll leave you now to grow huge and prosper. And smell like poo for any arborists that need to do their thang.

Mission: Shift a titoki.
Easy.
Problem 1: It’s in decline. Don’t shift trees that aren’t healthy. That’s a bad move.
Problem 2: It’s planted as a dedication to a student that had passed away, but has to be moved for a driveway to come through.
Solution: 🤞🏻
Well, some TLC, overkill on the rootball size, a little bit of fert, some premium re-grind aged mulch, water and more 🤞🏻. And water!

We also balanced and straightened it in the process 🤙🏻

Spring has sprung! 🌷

The fruit flowers are popping out in our recovery nursery. Now’s a great time to purchase one of the fruit trees we’ve saved of our sites, and have us plant them in your orchard.
Currently we have two large apples 🍎, two medium feijoas (why is there no emoji for a feijoa..?) and an apricot. Among other trees too.
Come and save a tree!

Three transplants this week and three challenges.

A very special Three Kings Island tī kōuka needed to be shifted on-site for Shaun @ Tree and Property Maintenance Akl Ltd in the Plant and Food Research facility in Mt Albert.
Challenge: It needed to go up a retaining wall. Nice work Bob and Cam Vernon Vernon Developments for the lowloader idea. Worked a treat!

Another tī kōuka needed to be shifted onsite for Tree Tops - Professional Tree Services at the Auckland Zoo.
Challenge: Emus and access. Access was tight, and the Emus were less than considerate.

Three pōhutukawa needed to be shifted from a road island in Glen Innes for town centre upgrades for GreensceneNZ.
Challenge: Unknown underground concrete tree pits with two foot deep concrete footings.

Never a dull moment saving trees 😮‍💨
