Our founder Ron recently returned to Paris and had quite the adventure...

"24 August 1999, I arrived into Paris at the age of 18. It was my first journey overseas and I was off for my OE.

I had been invited the year before by a family friend, Manu, to come to Paris and work in his cafe. My original plan had been to head over for 6 weeks and do a Contiki. Manu’s offer changed everything.

My time in Paris, working and living in the 7th arrondissement (central Paris) and 3 blocks from the Eiffel Tower, fundamentally changed the way I view the world. It was a catalyst moment that changed the trajectory of my life towards eventually becoming the travel monster I am today…

24 August 2024, 25 years later to the day, I returned to Paris in search of Manu.

There was a small hiccup though, I knew his first name only. Additionally Manu had left the café in 2002, and his family had sold the establishment in 2004 and were also long gone…
