“Independent” is an accurate assessment of the way Mark Read runs his Independent Helicopters Ltd company: it’s a one-air craft one-man operation working from a base at Prebbleton, south of Christchurch, but doing a multiplicity of tasks 🚁🏗

Mark and his helicopter play multiple heavy-lifting roles in the construction industry with a couple of his regular Canterbury clients being JAR Builders LTD, a design-and-build company that counts earthquake-related repairs among its services, and HGM Construction Ltd which does a range of work like slope retention in sling and helicopter operations.

Marylin from Geraldine needed a wee lift to get her to her hospital appointment today. Our crews at Timaru Fire Station were only too willing to help along with Independent Helicopters Ltd to ensure she got to her urgent radiotherapy appointment. Marylin is in her 80's and is fighting head and neck cancer with everything she has got. As an ex ambulance officer with Geraldine St John she is like family, so we wish you all the best Marilyn and look forward to seeing you again sometime.
