Officially open! See you Coromandel❤️

State Highway 25A in Coromandel is now open!

Earlier this morning we opened the fully restored road and new bridge over the slip caused by the severe weather earlier this year.

We'd like to thank the community for its patience and support over the past few months, and give an especially big thanks to the many workers onsite and offsite, from on the ground in Coromandel to Napier where many parts of the bridge were prefabricated, for the tremendous effort they've put in to reopen the road well ahead of time.

If you're travelling to the Coromandel these holidays, traffic will be heavy. We need you to do your bit to keep everyone moving smoothly through the site—don't stop, stick to the speed limit, and travel safely through the site.

Places To Check Out that are very close to Cooks beach. In no particular order 😁

1. Lonely bay beach
2. Cathedral Cove- only via water taxi. Walking track is still closed.
3. Hot water beach- if you are after digging on the spot with warm water, make sure low tide kayo pumunta. Hindi po literal na hot water yung buong beach. Nice small beach though.
4. Shakespeare cliff lookout
5. Mount Paku in Tairua
6.Ferry landing- the wharf is a fishing spot. Meron ding mussels sa may batuhan kapag low tide
7. Purangi regional reserve/captain cooks landing
8. Whitianga animal farm park
9. Opoutere beach- popular with nudist
10. Mercury bay estate and winery- good for couple dates❤️

Another great activity while in Cooks beach is driving to Ferry Landing and then catching the Whitianga ferry to explore Whitianga town. if you have kids, you will find a great playground right next to Whitianga wharf.

Summer timetable is 7.30am-7.25
pm and 8.30pm-10.25pm

Mount Paku summit walk in Tairua can be a great addition to your itinerary when you visit the Coromandel. Paku Hill is a 30mins drive from Cooks beach.

About 15 min walk to the summit and you will rewarded with a fantastic view.

Lonely Bay is a 3 minute drive from Cooks beach plus few minutes walk from carpark to the beach itself. A great alternative beach to check out while Cathedral cove is currently not safe for public to visit.
