TORLESSE TRAVEL LTD CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT.
Torlesse Travel has been brought by Tranzit Coachlines.
First day of service for Tranzit is the 1st of December.
Tranzit will continue to run the Darfield and West Melton Christchurch schools bus run.
The last day of service for 2022 will be the 9th of December.
Tranzit contact details and dates for commencement of service 2023 will be posted on this page January 2023.

School Bus Drivers Required in Rangiora and Darfield.

We are proud to be a transport provider for the Ministry of Education and Direct Resourced Schools in the Canterbury Area.
We are looking for permanent, part time as well as casual School Bus Drivers to drive morning and afternoon school runs in Darfield and Rangiora.
Days of work are Monday to Friday during the school term. Extra charter work will be available at times.
If you are or have
- A Class 1 or 2 licence and a P endorsement.
- Excellent communication skills
- A Team player
- Health and Safety focused
- Keen to contribute and a can-do attitude
Then this could be a job for you. Support to achieve licencing maybe given to suitable applicants.
Applicants from Christchurch are welcome to apply as we can supply transport to our Rangiora and Darfield depots.

Due to the new traffic lights being installed in West Melton, the pick up for the Darfield - Christchurch Schools service will be at the bus stop outside West Melton Primary School.

This will take effect from Monday morning 15/8/22

The bus will then turn right into Halkett Road, so those living on Halkett Road will be able to be picked up outside their gates. The pick up time outside the school will be the same time as the previous stop on West Coast Road / Weedons Ross Road corner.

Darfield to Christchurch Schools Service – updated 10/03/2022

Good news!
We have been able to secure some additional work for the bus that we use on this route and whilst this doesn’t make it viable as a stand-alone service, it does help to offset some of the costs associated with running this.
It is our hope and intention that with your continued support and a slight fare increase, we will be able to continue to operate this service.
Therefore, this service will continue to operate throughout Term 2 and hopefully beyond.
We will be relying on your support going forward.
The fares from and to Darfield will increase from $8.00 per trip to $11.00 and from West Melton, the fares will increase from $5.00 to $8.00 per single trip.
We hope this is welcome news and we look forward to being of service to you now and into the future.
