Justin and Charlotte Bray brought their farming backgrounds into the mix when purchasing the business four years ago and haven’t looked back.

When Cyclone Gabrielle hit in February 2023, Justin and Charlotte were able to step in and help small farm owners re-establish their infrastructure, with the aim being to future proof it.

Small Farm Services Hawkes Bay

Justin and Charlotte Bray purchased Small Farm Services Hawkes Bay from Murray Cranswick and Kirsty Caro in June 2020. “We are very excited to be the new owners and look forward to carrying on the good service and workmanship to future and existing clients from the past twenty years.”

Justin and Charlotte are both from farming stock having been born and breed on farms. Justin on a station in the Canterbury High Country and Charlotte on an East Coast farm in Southern Hawkes Bay.

Justin has lived and breathed farming and everything farming related from a very early age and has worked on many farms throughout New Zealand and Australia as well as driving agriculture machinery for contractors. In June 2013 Justin and Charlotte purchased their first farm out near Porangahau. They sold this in May 2020 looking to expand when they spotted the opportunity to purchase Small Farm Services Hawkes Bay.

Justin prides himself on a strong work ethic done to a very high standard and loves interacting with different people. He has also worked in the tourism industry as a hunting guide and in the ski industry with his parents past tourism ventures. Along with a stint in Outback Australia on a cattle station this sees him command a great range of skills both practically and people wise to tackle different jobs and challenges. Justin has a Diploma in Agriculture and Farm Management from Lincoln University to complement his practical skills.
